Comments about Garnier Olia Oil Powered Permanent Haircolor, 9 1/2.1 Light Cool Blonde, 1 ea:

I am a hairstylist. I try different products like this because lets face it, not everyone can afford to go to the salon these days to get hair color. I do this so I can recommend products such as this. I don't like to tell someone to use a at home hair color unless I have tried it myself. I love this color. It is easy on your hair and gives great result. To the woman who said her hair was falling out, I am glad you mentioned you had just gave birth for I can tell you what the answer to this is. When you are preganant you do not lose hair like you normally do. In fact most women have thicker hair. After giving birth and hormones start going back to normal, you start losing the hair your body stored up for 9 months. It is normal.

Comments about Garnier Olia Oil Powered Permanent Haircolor, 9 1/2.1 Light Cool Blonde, 1 ea:

I haven't seen my natural hair color in over 10 years, I am addicted to completely changing up my color up to 2x a year. This time I decided to go for a platinum blonde look, and the 9 1/2.1 Light Cool Blonde is EXACTLY what I needed! I am naturally a dirty/ash blonde, and this color yielded a cool, bright, shiny, soft blonde.

I first noticed how soft my hair was when I was washing out the color, which was shocking because as I said I've dyed my hair over and over again, and going blonde always causes damage, but this is absolutely the softest it's ever been.

Admittedly, the bottle is a bit tricky to maneuver because it's wider than most, but after using it 3x now I think I finally got the hang of it.

To bottom reviewer below who had problems with this color, it doesn't sound like you used the product properly... If you have orange roots, you didn't leave it on long enough for it to fully process. Or perhaps this product isn't strong enough if you have dark hair. I can't believe that someone would have had that happen when I followed the instructions exactly and had flawless results.

Comments about Garnier Olia Oil Powered Permanent Haircolor, 9 1/2.1 Light Cool Blonde, 1 ea:

i've read the reviews first. on the garnier website and walmart (since many people buy there) and didn't know what to think but I liked the ingredients and the idea.
Great formula for the blonds. I always was dark/dirty blond and no matter what brand i could never get the right clean brass free blond. Well, this does it!
Packaging is horrible from the beginning to the end: the developer, I have to cut the tube to get all of it out.
Also, because the neck of the bottle is so wide there is no leverage for my hands when I squeeze the color tube.
Gloves are too small for my hands, I prefer regular plastic ones.
All and all I will buy it again because of the formula.
As to the comment when the hair started to fall out, i'm pretty sure it hormones because there is nothing in the formula that would suggest that kind of abuse.

Comments about Garnier Olia Oil Powered Permanent Haircolor, 9 1/2.1 Light Cool Blonde, 1 ea:

First let me say I recently gave birth, about 4 months ago. I don't know if that has anything to do with this but I'm not sure so I'm putting it out there. I used this product (a darker color than the one shown above) last night and I've never been so disappointed in hair color. I have used many different box colors over the course of my lifetime and have NEVER had any hair fall out, until now. The packaging looks nice, but is not practical. I had both the developer and the mixer bottle slip out of my hand, they are just too slippery with the gloves on and not a good shape. Fine, so I get it all mixed up and apply. Wait 30 minutes. At no time did my scalp burn or itch or anything. Get in the shower and rinse it all out. I noticed a lot of hair was coming off on my hands as I was rinsing but didn't think too much of it, as I said, I just gave birth about 4 months ago and I've been shedding a lot lately. I think most of the pregnancy hormones are now gone so that is the reason why. I got out of the shower and looked at the color in the mirror. The color came out fine (about a shade lighter than my natural) but on both sides of my forehead there are big spots missing hair!! One side is worse than the other. So now if I pull my hair back into a ponytail it will definitely be noticeable. I have very thick hair too so this is so strange. Again, maybe this pregnancy did something weird to my hair but I didn't have this problem (with other box colors) after my first pregnancy. So I can't tell you if it's just me or if it's the color, but I do know that this product and my hair obviously do not mix well together. Obviously I will not be using Olia again. I'm pretty sure my hair will grow back and be fine, but just a word of warning.

Comments about Garnier Olia Oil Powered Permanent Haircolor, 9 1/2.1 Light Cool Blonde, 1 ea:

I had bottle blonde hair that was about the same as the champagne blonde and looking to lift the color with minimal damage I bought 9 1/2.1 Light Cool Blonde. Let me summarize how awful this choice was:

              1. Hair is now DARKER and DULL. The color is NOTHING like the color on the box.
              2. I wasn't stupid enough to think there wouldn't be damage but for an "oil- based" product this is shocking, I had less damage using their Nutrisse line.
              3. It didn't smell at first but it catches up to you as the process goes on.
              4. My scalp was itchy which never happens to me.
              5. My roots were coming in but I'd read a ton of reviews and they said it would have a gradual color change from my roots to my actual hair of a light brown to a blonde but my roots look orange. Horrid.
              6. Application is soooo annoying with this bottle. I dropped it twice.
              7. I don't have tiny hands but for some reason the gloves were huge and paired with #6 the application process was awful.

Overall, I would not recommend it. This is probably the worst dye I've ever used and I've been dying my hair for 10 years now. It sounded good and I fell for it but lesson learned.
