Genotropin "5.8mg Cartridge, Additional 3-5 Days Required To Order Medication" is a growth hormone used to treat certain children or adults whose bodies do not produce enough growth hormone. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Genotropin "5.8mg Cartridge, Additional 3-5 Days Required To Order Medication". INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking corticosteroids (such as prednisone), estrogens, anticonvulsants (such as carbamazepine), cyclosporine, insulin, or other medicines for diabetes. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions including a history of ear or hearing problems (such as repeated ear infections), heart problems, kidney problems, lung or breathing problems (such as airway blockage, sleep apnea), leukemia, other types of cancer, unusual growths or tumors (especially in the brain), endocrine problems (such as pituitary or adrenal gland problems), personal or family history of diabetes or high blood sugar levels, thyroid problems, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. USE OF GENOTROPIN "5.8mg CARTRIDGE, ADDITIONAL 3-5 DAYS REQUIRED TO ORDER MEDICATION" IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have active or recurring cancer, a brain tumor, or other unusual growths; severe breathing problems (such as respiratory failure); serious illness caused by complications from surgery or injury; or a certain type of eye problem caused by diabetes (diabetic retinopathy). USE OF GENOTROPIN "5.8mg CARTRIDGE, ADDITIONAL 3-5 DAYS REQUIRED TO ORDER MEDICATION" IS NOT RECOMMENDED in children whose bone growth is complete, or children who have Prader-Willi syndrome and are severely overweight or have severe breathing problems (such as airway blockage, sleep apnea, respiratory infection). Follow the directions for using Genotropin "5.8mg Cartridge, Additional 3-5 Days Required To Order Medication" provided by your doctor. Be sure to rotate your injection site as directed to help avoid thickening or hardening of the skin. DO NOT USE GENOTROPIN "5.8mg CARTRIDGE, ADDITIONAL 3-5 DAYS REQUIRED TO ORDER MEDICATION" if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this product. IF YOU HAVE HAD AN ALLERGIC REACTION to a preservative called m-Cresol, talk with your doctor before using Genotropin "5.8mg Cartridge, Additional 3-5 Days Required To Order Medication". Laboratory and/or medical tests, including blood sugar levels and thyroid function may be performed to monitor your progress or to check for side effects. SEVERE AND SOMETIMES FATAL LUNG AND BREATHING PROBLEMS have occurred with use of Genotropin "5.8mg Cartridge, Additional 3-5 Days Required To Order Medication" in certain children with Prader-Willi syndrome. These children were usually either very overweight or had severe breathing problems (such as airway blockage, sleep apnea, lung or airway infection). The risk may be greater in males. Children with Prader-Willi syndrome should have certain breathing tests before they start Genotropin "5.8mg Cartridge, Additional 3-5 Days Required To Order Medication". They should be monitored for signs of lung or airway infection. They should also have effective weight control. Contact the doctor at once if the patient develops irregular breathing during sleep, new or increased snoring, or symptoms of lung or airway infection (such as fever, coughing, sore throat, shortness of breath, chest pain or discomfort). RARELY, CHILDREN USING GENOTROPIN "5.8mg CARTRIDGE, ADDITIONAL 3-5 DAYS REQUIRED TO ORDER MEDICATION" have experienced a slipped growth plate in the hip. Contact the doctor right away if the patient develops hip or knee pain or a limp. Genotropin "5.8mg Cartridge, Additional 3-5 Days Required To Order Medication" may have benzyl alcohol in it. Do not use medicines that contain benzyl alcohol in NEWBORNS or INFANTS. It may cause serious and sometimes fatal nervous system problems and other side effects. SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking Genotropin "5.8mg Cartridge, Additional 3-5 Days Required To Order Medication" include fatigue, headache, increased appetite, stuffy nose, mild swelling (such as of the hands or feet), mild arm or leg pain or stiffness, muscle or joint pain, prickling sensation of the skin, or redness or itching at the injection site. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience thickened or hardened skin at the injection site. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience blood in the urine; burning, tingling, itching, or numbness in the palm of the hand, fingers, or wrist; change in appearance or size of a mole; chest pain or discomfort; confusion; ear pain, discharge, or discomfort; fast heartbeat; fever or chills; mental or mood changes; hearing problems; hip or knee pain; limp; nausea or vomiting; new growth on the skin; one-sided weakness; persistent or severe cough or sore throat; persistent or unusual stomach pain; severe or persistent swelling of the hands, ankles, or feet; shortness of breath; slurred speech; snoring or irregular breathing during sleep; sudden, severe, or persistent headache or dizziness; symptoms of high blood sugar (such as increased thirst, hunger, or urination; unusual weakness); unusual bruising; or vision changes. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Genotropin "5.8mg Cartridge, Additional 3-5 Days Required To Order Medication" is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms may include dizziness, excessive thirst or hunger, fainting, fast heartbeat, and frequent urination.
