I put a little in each eye just before bed and it helps my eyes feel better through the night and the next morning.
It is a little thick so it's not great to use if you were going right to work or something like that.

My eye doctor recommended this. I am diabetic, take several medications that cause dry eye as a side effect, and must use a CPAP machine when I sleep. My eyes felt scratched and my vision was getting worse. This product really helps. I use it everytime I sleep. I do have to use the drops after each time I get up in the night... but, it feels clean in the eyes, not like other products that feel like you just put vaseline in your eye. It's pricey when used everyday, but it works!

Have been using this product successfully to combat dry eyes for several months now. It is rather expensive, but does seem to work & is easy to apply. Because it is in a tube, it is not nearly as wasteful as the single use applicators of many eye products.

Recommended by my optometrist. Love it! Soothes, keeps eyes moist with 2 or 3 applications through the day. Love that there's no preservative in the eye.

I have bad allergies with very sensitive eyes. I have had surgery on one & can't use products with preservatives. My eye specialist recommended this as eyes so dry & vision was blurring from irritation of pollen & construction at work. He explained a roughed up surface will decrease your vision & can wear at cornea. I put in eyes morning & night after washing face & if gets bad midday I flush eyes with preservative free drops & then few minutes later put the gel in. It will be blurry for few minutes but quickly clears. Really protects your eyes

I acutally use Genteal gel on the advice of my dogs' opthamologist. Sound crazy? Not at all. It's actually easier to put the gel in their eyes than drops are, and because of the consistency, it stays with them longer, too. For large-eyed dogs, this is a real issue. It has greatly improved their quality of life and for one of them has contributed to a return in some of his vision.
During the winter, when even the humidifier can't keep up with the furnace, I've used it myself to ease my eyes. It's much more soothing than drops and provides almost instantaneous relief.
Last but not least, the drugstore.com price is a fraction of what anyone else charges.

Doesn't last long. I am looking for eye drops that would stay long, but these disappear and my eyes are dry again within a few minutes.

This product was recommended by my eye doctor. I had a dry eye problem that got so severe I couldn't even open my eyes in the morning. When I use this at night before bedtime, it solves the problem. You do have to make sure to use it before bedtime, as it distorts the vision a little. This has been a very helpful product for me.
