Indications
Relieves dryness of the eye.
Temporarily relieves discomfort due to minor irritations of the eye or form exposure to wind or sun.
As a protectant against further irritation.
Warnings
When using this product, do not touch tip of container to any surface. Replace cap after using. Do not use if gel changes color or becomes cloudy.
Stop use and ask a doctor if you experience any of the following:
Eye pain
Changes in vision
Continued redness or irritation of the eye
Condition worsens or persists for more than 72 hours
Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

I am on prescription eye drops for high eye pressure. These drops cause me to have very severe dry eye to the point where I sometimes wake up at night and have my eyelid actually stuck to my eyeball. Very uncomfortable to say the least. GenTeal gel was recommended to me by my eye doctor. He said to put in the prescription drops at night, then wait about 2 minutes and then use the GenTeal gel. I must say that this works much better than let's say Systane due to its thicker consistency. Being preservative-free is an added bonus because it does not irritate my eyes. I am very happy with the GenTeal and also use it during the day when the need arises. Recommend this to anyone who cannot get relief from regular OTC dry eye drops.

I was hoping for a better "fix" than a bottle of tears by the bed. And, yes, to some extent, I got that. But I had hoped the gel would allow me to wake without feeling like my eyes are grinding in their sockets. Didn't happen. Yes, it is better than tears and I don't have to put in tears several times during the night, but I do have to use tears now and then during the night AND I certainly have to use them when I wake up. Better but not wonderful.

I have developed a sensitivity to the Genteal products, possibly due to the preservative. I can no longer use either the drops or the gel as it makes my eyes and lids very red, itchy and irritated. I have several unopened tubes of the gel for severe eye dryness. Therefore I cannot write a positive review.

When I use this right before bed I do not wake up with such dry eyes. It blurs your vision for a little bit, so you either just have to deal with it or use it before bed or before taking a shower. It is a great moisturizer for dry eyes! Just squeeze a little in each eye and blink and roll your eyeball around a little.
