Do not use microwave oven to warm formula.  Serious burns may result.

Your baby's health depends on carefully following the preparation, use, and storage instructions below.  Ask your baby's doctor about infant formula feeding* including how much to feed and the need to sterilize (boil) water and preparation utensils before mixing formula.  Powdered infant formulas are not sterile and should not be fed to premature infants or infants who may have immune problems unless directed and supervised by your baby's doctor.  Pour desired amount of lukewarm water into clean container.  Add 1 unpacked level scoop (8.8 g) of powder for each 2 fl oz water.  Only used enclosed scoop.  Stir well.  Pour formula into bottle or cup.  Feed baby immediately or refrigerate and use bottle or cup within 24 hours.  Once feeding begins, use within 1 hour or discard.  Or mix formula with cereal or other solid foods.  Feed baby immediately.  Discard food left in bowl after feeding.  Storage:  Tightly cover open can and use within 1 month.  Store open and unopened cans in cool, dry place.  Avoid extreme storage temperatures.  Some settling may occur in shipping.  Makes approximately 157 fl oz (1.2 gal) of formula.  *Good Start is a routine formula brand.  If you suspect your baby is allergic to milk, use only under a doctor's supervision.  When switching formula, a gradual transition is best.  Gerber recommends breastmilk as the best start for babies.  Provides the live and active probiotic cultures Bifidobacterium lactis.  Bifidobacteria are the most abundant type of culture found in the digestive system of breastfed babies.  Warming formula above, or using water warmer than 100°F (40°C), will compromise the benefits of the Bifidus Bl cultures.
