The original ATRA blades have been around almost as along as I began shaving (30+ yrs) and the product is as good today as the first day it was introduced yet for some reason it is virtually impossible to find at any of the major drug store chains or the other big retailers that selll shaving blades. The good news is that thanks to Drugstore.com not only is the product a snap to purchase but the price is always lower then stores I have purchased this product from in the past(when I could even find it) and when you factor in the periodic discounts [...]. I buy alot of items from drugstore.com-you should to!

Atras were a great invention when they first appeared in the 70s. I dropped my old single-blade razor and enjoyed the lighter weight and convenience of a double-blade disposable. Since then Gillette has gone through a gazillion generations of wet shave blades all doing pretty much the same thing and at much greater cost.

My philosophy is "if ain't broke, don't fix it". Atra blades shave as well as anything out there at a fraction of the cost. I hope they never stop making them and DrugStore never stops selling them,

I'm a woman and have used Atra (same metal handle) for 30 years. I shave my legs and armpits in the shower. Atra is much better than the newer men's blades and in a different universe from the ridiculous blades they design for women. This one has an edge you can see and the blades last longer than the newer ones. (Which may be why it's so hard to find; less revenue...) My only complaint is that they stopped making the ones without the white strip. The strip wears out before the blades do.

My husband has had this razor for more than 20 years, and he didn't want to change. We couldn't find the blades any more, so he was pleased that I could find a source to keep him supplied.
