I started useing the Venus for women by Gillette...sucky. It never got close enough, especially under the arms.
Women have more places to shave then men, you'd think that companies would realize this and get one on the market that work as well as mens. In the mean time, I used these shaver tips because they're the best I've ever found to get in those "hard to reach" areas. The Venus had to larg of a head and the blades don't reach as far as the Mach 3 Turbo.
The only thing I have in the complaint arena is that these shaver tips are VERY expensive. They have seemed to gone up even in the last few months since I bought the last time

I am a female that has used Gillette razor blades for about 15 years on my legs. I usually go with the normal Gillette Mach 3 cartridges for myself and husband but this last time, I bought Mach 3 Turbo. Unfortunately, I think these razor blades are made to go dull 30% faster, hence the title of my review. At first, I thought it was just me, but as my husband and I are wading through the 8 pack of blades, I asked him if he thought they go dull quickly and he agreed that we seem to be going through these blades much faster than normal. He also felt that they shave they give is not different than the Mach 3. I think that the regular Mach 3 are a better value and give a closer shave. It seems with these blades that the lubricant strip wears out after 2 or 3 shaves and the blade gets really dull after about 5 shaves (and remember, I'm a female with regular leg hair--not burlyman leg hair).
Comments about Gillette MACH3 Turbo Refill Cartridges, 8 ea:
I was loyal to MACH 3 and repeatedly purchased product several times because I was convinced I would get a close shave. It never happened, but after trying Gillette disposable razors I got a closer shave than I have had in months. Unlike Gillette disposable razor the MACH 3 feels less manageable as the head and body easily wiggles and makes shaving less fun. Although I do get a closer shave with a 2 blade disposable razor than I did with 3 blade MACH 3 I still have interest in trying Gillette 5 blade fusion razor.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments about Gillette MACH3 Turbo Refill Cartridges, 8 ea:
I've used nearly every Gillette razor and blade system since the Trac II. I found that each one was an improvement over the prior one. Until Fusion/Fusion Pro-Glide. For my purposes (facial shaving) Mach3 Turbo is still the best. Fusion/Fusion Pro-Glide gives a somewhat closer shave than Mach3 Turbo, but I found it to be harshly irritating, unlike Mach3 Turbo. If you are like me, your face will be stinging for hours after using any of the Fusion blades.
For me, Mach3 Turbo is still the "king" of cartridge shaving (little play on Mr. Gillette's name there). Fusion is not worth it unless you need an extremely close shave (such as your wedding day) and you are willing to pay the price in terms of pain. I am not a "sensitive skin" guy by the way. Too bad Gillette is ending the Mach3 razor sales in the USA, though they'll contininue to sell the cartridges.
I will keep buying the Mach3 Turbo cartridges as long as they are made (unless something better comes along). By the way, I prefer to use Mach3 Turbo blades on the original "classic" Mach3 handle - the Mach3 Turbo blades fit nicely on the Mach3 (non-Turbo) handle; I didn't like the way the Mach3 Turbo blades worked with the Mach3 Turbo handle as much.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
The innovative design of Gillette MACH3 Turbo Refill Cartridges continues to deliver close, comfortable shaves, just as it has since the beginning of this century. Featuring a suite of advanced shaving technologies, these three-blade cartridges last longer than many other multi-blade systems - up to twice as long as two-blade styles, according to a national survey of consumers. Best of all, these cartridges fit onto any Gillette MACH3 razor. Together, these features make this Gillette cartridge selection a winner.
Engineering a Close Shave
Introduced in 2001, the Gillette MACH3 Turbo cartridge brings together a combination of technologies that work together to provide a shaving experience that is not only close, but easy on the skin. The blades themselves are made with an advanced anti-friction coating, so that they tug and pull less during shaving. Then, the blades are mounted in the cartridges in a design that maximizes their effectiveness: Each of the 3 blades is positioned progressively, to extend gradually, so that each stroke of the razor provides the benefit of all 3 cutting edges. The set of blades is spring-mounted on a Pressure Control System to follow the contours of the face and respond to different skin surfaces. A set of 10 thin, flexible microfins precedes the blades, to smooth out the skin and gently lift even stubborn hairs and stubble before the first blade reaches them. The Lubrastrip releases a soothing aloe-based lubricant during shaving, restoring moisture to skin even in the middle of a shave.
Gillette: Pioneer In Shaving
Thousands of years of shaving technology changed in 1901, when King C. Gillette invented and introduced the safety razor, the first real alternative to the straight or "cutthroat" razor. The Gillette MACH3 Turbo Refill Cartridges continue that history of innovation, following the promise of the company's founder to deliver a better way to shave.
