I used to have the Venus Divine and thought it was the best and that gillette just keeps making new razors as a gimmick to make money, but after using the Embrace, I was shocked at how much better it really is. I do not find the size of the head awkward at all; I think it is great. My legs are the smoothest they have ever been with the least amount of effort and I have not once experienced razor burn. The colors are also very cute and brighten my day in the shower. The only bad thing is that the refills are just sooo expensive, but I guess it's that way with most razors. I bet the blades are sharp enough...the head is just too big and the blades are too far in! I have VERY thin and sparse leg hair so I was very surprised. Basically, you need to press pretty hard to get a close shave. BUT I did not get any nicks or cuts, so it would be ideal for those just starting out. I prefer Schick Triple Blade disposable over this. Another thing I didn't like was that the shower caddy suction cups were really weak and I could never get the darn thing to stay up. This razor is also more expensive than others. Word of advice...get many sharp blades and small razor head for the closest shave ever! I was afraid to use another razor, but the Venus Embrace shaves so well and close - even though the hair was longer than it should have been. No nicks, no cuts, and smooth hairless legs! This is a great razor for girls who are new to shaving and want smooth results. [Since I'm not 18, my Mom watched me write this review and she's over 18 :-) ] Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? I had the chance to test both the Embrace and Venus&Olay refills, and it was neat to learn that any Venus blade fits on any handle... so that was interesting. However, I found that the Venus&Olay moisture strips melted away before I even finished shaving both my legs -- I definitely wouldn't spend the money on this. The Embrace was fantastic though... love the five blades and it really reduced my ingrown hairs and razorburn (which made me switch to using the men's Schick Hydro 5 years ago). This is a nice feminine replacement for my Schick Hydro. :) Love it! Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? The timing couldn't be more perfect becuase I was going to need a new razor soon! I like how grippy the handle is on this razor, and the 5 blades give a really nice shave. The blades are also easy to rinse clean, this seems to be the case with all of the Venus cartridges. I wish the head was smaller, though. I could do without the "shave gel" strips. They are too gooey for my taste, and make dry shaving (which I do with a wet razor) gross because they leave strings of gel on my skin. No issues shaving in shower, I just have to rinse my skin well. I received this from Influenster to sample and review and it was my favorite product in the voxbox of items I got. I didn't have one cut or any razor burn! It got all the hair off and left my legs super smooth. It's so awesome because any Venus blade refill fits any Venus razor handle! There are a variety of refill blades to choose from; I can't wait to try the Olay blade next! This razor is definitely worth the buy. In winter months I go thru alot of lotion because of how dry my legs get but with this razor I find myself not having to use the lotion. I LOVE this razor!! I also like the fact that any Venus blade refill fits any Venus razor handle. Thank you again Influenster for the complimentary razor!!
