These bags are tough, as well as nicely stretchy. We have to carry the trash some distance, including down some stairs, and we can rely on these bags to hold up. Cheaper bags are a mess because they rip if there's an even slightly "poking" or "sharp" item (like the corner of a box, or a hard plastic fork) or tear out if you put something heavy (like a few old books) in them; the ties also tend to rip or tear out. I'm indifferent to the "Odor Shield," which doesn't bother me but which I don't consider necessary, either. It's the toughness I like. These Glad bags are well worth the extra money charged for them.

Great functional product, very strong odor. I didn't mean to get the scented ones. I love this bag, but will be extra careful to get the non-stinky ones next time.

I never thought I'd write a review much less one on garbage bags, but I'm enraged. The drawstring on these bages tears off leaving the bag usuable. IN past month we've bought these bags a couple of times spending [$] Now everytime I take them out, I have to twist and retie with a string. I might as well buy generic bags. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I really wanted to like these, but these bags tend to tear open for me. Maybe my garbage is more pointy than normal? Also the odor shield is a good idea but the scent is nauseating to me.

I feel bad leaving a less than stellar review, given the above reviews, but I really have not had a good experience with these bags. They tear quite easily for me -- granted, not as easily as "regular" trash bags, but still unsatisfied versus another popular brand of tear-resistant bags to remain unnamed here. I use mine in a typical tall kitchen trash can, and if I fill it anywhere near the top, the bags almost always tear just under the drawstring when I lift them out to tie them up. If there is anything heavy in the bags, they always tear under the drawstrings if I carry them any distance. I have now switched to the "other" brand (let's just say they're not wimpy, if you remember old commercials), and they have performed much better -- for me, anyway.

Never thought I'd write a review of trash bags, but these are the absolute best. Not only are they very durable, resist tearing, etc., but the odor shield really works. I have cats and end up throwing away a little bit of wet cat food twice a day. These bags contain the odor and always smell fresh. I'm pretty sensitive to scents used on commercial products and these don't bother me at all. If your trash sits in your kitchen for more than a day or two, or if your trash contains anything that smells on its own, get these. They are more expensive, but they're worth every penny and more.

These tall kitchen garbage bags are great! If you've ever had the "pleasure" of using a cheap brand that breaks open, then you'll really appreciate these bags, since they're sturdy and good quality. They may not be the cheapest but they're money well-spent, since you won't need to use a second bag (since the 1st bag won't have spilt all over your kitchen floor)! The fact that they have a pleasant scent is just an added benefit, but don't worry, the scent is not too strong (unless you're hypersensitive). Another good aspect is you won't need to spend an hour trying to open the wretched thing!

Actually, these are worth 20 stars! Here's a true story: One night a drunk driver hit our garbage and recycling cans, which were at the curb for pick-up. Our trash can was sent two blocks down the street to a busy intersection. While the can itself was completely destroyed, our trash bags (these particular Force Flex) were TOTALLY intact. It was crazy! I am now a loyal fan. They are definitely worth every cent-NOTHING seems to break them, and they smell good, too.
