Comments about Gly Derm Intense C Serum PM Vitamin C Concentrate, 1 oz:

I like to try new things so with all the hype about vitamin c, I went on a hunt to find one. Strangely I went with one that I cannot find reviews on anywhere...partly because there was a decent sale on it and it was a little pricier than the brands I normally buy, and because I didn't want to be swayed. This is the first vit. c specific serum that I've ever used, so I can't attest that it's the best out there. I have fair, sensitive skin that tans easily (which I took advantage of when I was younger) so I am trying to stave off wrinkles and correct some of the sun damage I've caused. It comes in a dark glass vial with an eye dropper which makes it easy to get the product out because it's very watery. I put 3-4 drops (directions say 7) into the palm of my hand and immediately I feel a warming sensation. I use my other hand to rub in the serum and it does feel slightly warm on my face for a minute or so. I don't use this every night since vitamin C stays in your system for up to 72 hrs, so I alternate this with a retinol or AHA product at night. On that note, I do say that I have sensitive skin, but I have slowly introduced retinols and aha's over the past year, so I may be more tolerant to the intensity of this serum than other sensitive-skinned people.I recommend a dry face and I didn't realize at first that retinols and other moisturizer ingredients can deactivate vitamin C. This confuses me, since there's alot of moisturizers with vitamin c in it, but I've stopped using a moisturizer ontop and it's actually seemed to help. This product also says PM, although from what I've read vit c is great to use during the day because it helps with sun protection. I don't know why they say PM because there isn't any SPF in vitamin c products, and it's not like a retinol product that makes sense to use at night. It also says for any skin type but I've seen where it says not recommended for oily skin. I do have oily skin and can see that the serum could be a little greasy. I exfoliate alot, so, so far so good.BUT! I have been keeping an eye on my jaw line where I've got some small sun spots and I'm noticing that they are lightening rather quickly. My complexion looks more radiant and even-toned. I like that it has very minimal amount of ingredients and no fragrance added for my sensitive skin. I figured for [$] I'd try it although there were cheaper...I'll need to see the improvements and how long it lasts before I'd say I'd purchase it again.
