A few years ago, when I turned 40, and for whatever reason, what was going on at that time, I incurred a lot of stress and suddenly got hit with a bad bout of indigestion and acid reflux. I tried everything, and I do mean, everything, all over the counter medicines, including Tagamet, Zantac, Pepto Bismol, Tums (Tums is the only one that gave me short-term relief)My doctor put me on Nexium first, then Prilosec, Aciphex, Protonix, Prevacid, none of them worked.....I tried DGL Licorice root capsules which were very effective but then I heard about how licorice can raise your blood pressure (yes, even the DGL form of it, which they say is safe....not so safe at all) - I didn't want to remain on anything that would affect me in other ways, so after reading about the digestive enzymes, I decided to give GNC brand a try since they're very reputable on all of their products. Well, I'm happy to say that I've cleared my reflux, do not take any other meds for this, other than the occasional Tums....it still seems when I'm hit with a stressful situation, I'll get a little acid creep in but it doesn't last and I have a good 6 days a week where there is no acid whatsoever. Ok, now that you've read this, and if you're a sufferer like I was, get to GNC and get the enzymes.....I take 2 a day, one when I first get up in the morning (before coffee or any food) and then another before dinner. Works like a charm - no reflux at night anymore either!! It didn't work right away, so be patient - it took a good week or two before I finally started to feel better, but now I won't stop taking those enzymes....when I'm near ready to run out, I'm over at that store to get more. I decided to give this product a try, and literally within two days my acid reflux was nearly gone... within five days, I haven't even had to think about it. As another reviewer stated, I began by taking the recommended two caps per meal, but within a week cut that dose down to just one for breakfast and lunch and two for dinner. I have even been able to drink orange juice, which is something I have not dared to do when suffering such terrible reflux. I could not be happier with the results of this product. Pros

I had bad gas pains every day and much bloating after sitting at a desk all day at work. Even thought it was due to tight pants around the abdomen. I take this product twice a day before meals and it has almost completely alleviated my symptoms! Pros

It took a couple of weeks and some experimentation with dosage. I started with one cap, then two, then up to four(two at a time with an hour or three between) until my symptoms stopped. I now only use this(two caps) when I over eat or feel acid reflux. I suspect the initial delay(two weeks) is related to the time it takes for your gut to start healing(anectdotally). I sleep better and do not suffer bloated feeling after meals. I take it prior, during or after meals even if symptoms have started. If I'm stressed or feeling persistant symptoms I'll take it on a more regular basis, but see no need to use when essentially symptom free. Works better than most other enzymes I've tried, no smell, smaller caps and I rarely if ever use antacids(which lead to terrible rebound effect) anymore. Pros

They aid in digestion and with regularity. My son has a very sensitive stomach and lot of allergies and he swears by these too.
