We have been using Soleo Organics Sunscreen for our 3 year old son, but found this one for this summer. This sunscreen definitely is easier to apply. It is not as thick and sticky and it doesn't seem to separate in the tube like a lot of the nontoxic natural sunscreens tend to do (which usually means you have to knead the tube to mix it up). It does take a little while for the white to fade, but you should apply sunscreen well before you go outside or in the pool to make sure it absorbs in anyway, so if you apply it 10 - 15 minutes before heading outside, we've found it doesn't turn white or clump. This is from trial and error.
I found this listed as one of the safe sunscreens listed on the EWG's website. Unfortunately this is not the one I will continue to buy :(. It smells really good - like lavender - and it is rated well for its safe use of ingredients, but those are about the only pros. It does not rub in easily - takes about 2 minutes to dissolve the white and even then its not perfect. Plus, if you get in the water and don't have it rubbed in well, it turns white again. I have also had some of the clumps mentioned in the previous review when the cap hasn't been closed (it dries out around the edges). If you can get past the application, it lasts well, but you defiantly have to reapply after swimming (which isn't anything uncommon in sunscreen). This product has potential, but needs some adjustments to make it perfect.
This sunscreen globbed up into sticky white balls when I applied it to my daughter's skin. I had to put her in the shower right away to wash it off. I'm returning it.
We have tried multiple natural (no toxic substances) sunscreens (California Baby, Badger, etc.) and this is the best! It's not greasy or sticky, does not leave a white residue, and has a mild pleasant smell. The texture is similar to a lotion (not thick and gooey like most) and it rubs in quickly and easily, which is key with kids. It's great for kids and adults on body and face. 100% independent review (non-compensated, paid full price for product) by a parent and physician.
Apply liberally and evenly prior to sun exposure. Reapply every 90 minutes, and immediately after swimming or bathing. Children under 6 months of age; ask a doctor.
