Tavist-clemastine has been the gold standard for allergy relief. Clinical tests find a few things work as well, but on the average nothing works better. Of course different antihistamines work for different people. But if Benadryl works for you this probably will too but for 12 hours not 4 and without the drowsiness for most people at this dosage level.

I've never tried the "brand name" version of this, so I can't compare it to that. It just plain doesn't work for me. I guess everyone is different. Just as a comparison, Allegra works only moderately well for my sinus & allergy issues, but it works better than this. I'm allergic to some breeds of cat fur, dust & a lot of outdoor sources (especially trees). The Good Sense version of Claritin works okay, better than this does anyway. I'll be honest- Dayquil works better to clear up my sinuses than this or any other Good Sense product, with the exception of their Benadryl equivalent. However, that causes drowsiness, so it's appropriate only for nighttime use.

I usually have to take a allergy pill for regular everyday use. I recommend this because it doesn't has any side effects and it's good for a cheap price you know.

Use Dayhist at night due to drowsiness; it relieves itchy eyes. Not so good is the drowsiness sometimes; 1/2 tab sometimes okay too.
