This works as well as any name brand with Loratidine as the active ingredient. It is a great value and the large quantitiy bottle is so convenient for frequent allergy suffers. I find it most effective being taken first thing in the morning every day, apparent symptoms or not, during my allergy "season". As other users note, the 24 hour products do become less effective right before the next dose but I usually encounter less allergens sleeping than awake so the "less effective" few hours doesnt matter.

I take it about 5:00 pm in order to get a decent nights sleep. By 11:00 am it has run out of effectiveness. I have several illnesses, so this might be why it is not all that effective.

My wife was taking Chloratrimatron for her allergies and switched to Loratadine. Works just as good and is a lot cheaper.
