[...] I absolutely love these pins! I can have a little "undone" looking bun as a nice alternative to a ponytail. The pins just screw right into the top and bottom of the bun and really hold it together! My hair is really thick so I use both pins, but thinner hair can definitely get away with one.

These spin pins are a fantastic idea, but for my straight, moderately thick hair, one pair is no where near enough. That makes them quite expensive. I just wanted to be able to put my hair up and out of my face when I'm at home so neatness wasn't a major issue for me. Even so, I couldn't begin to catch all the ends with just one set. Using an extra set would seem a simple solution, but when adding to the number of pins, they tend to get caught on each other.

If your plans are a simple updo that is loose and messy, you will probably be happier than someone trying to put up a nice, tight hairstyle.

I guess I will mark yes to the "recommend to a friend" question, but it really depends on the friend's hair and needs.

Comments about Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin, Colors May Vary, 1 pair:

I have fine hair, and it works well for me. Better than using all those bobby pins! I would have given it five stars, except one does not get to pick their color choice. I have received both light blonde (light gold,) and brown, and I never know what color I will receive. Sadly, the blonde/gold was way too bright and light for my hair...

Comments about Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin, Colors May Vary, 1 pair:

I have long wavy hair and like to wear it up. This is the first product I have found that can keep my hair up and not give me a headache. I rarely have to use bobby pins and I have been using the same pair for over a year without bending, breaking etc.
This probably would not work well for those with thin hair.

These pins are better than I even hoped. I have very long, thick, straight hair, and to put it in a bun I have always needed at least one elastic and probably ten bobby pins or else a second elastic. Two of these pins alone actually hold my hair firmly in a tight, high bun. Plus, they're quick and easy to put in and take out. They are also good for a low, loose bun, which I could never manage before because my hair is too heavy and slippery. These pins revolutionized my hair!

Comments about Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin, Colors May Vary, 1 pair:

I wear my hair in a bun everyday, so I've tried every bun making hair doo-dad there is. These are by far the best. I have very thick, wavy, and long hair. Two spin pins are all that I need to pin my hair up. I find they work best if you braid your hair in one braid, secure the ends with an elastic, then wind the braid up, and secure to your head with the spin pins. I'll do french braids and side braids to make more formal do's. If you just twist your hair without braiding it or using an elastic, the pins create a fast and easy messy bun look. The key is to tightly wrap the ends of your hair underneath the rest of the bun. It takes a bit of practice to learn how to use them, but once you get the hang of it, you'll never go back to basic bobby pins again.

I have only used these a few times but they are really quick handy. I am in the Army and have to wear my hair in a bun when I am on duty and after a while it starts giving me headaches. When I use these pins, it doesn't pull on my head like using pony tails. Because I have straight, fine hair I find that it makes it easier to use them if my hair is slightly damp or has some gel in it. These pins are not going to be good for people with shorter hair. Thinker, curlier hair would be best. Overall, this is a great idea.

These actually work. Use on hot days, when cooking or even just when holding a baby. Keeps hair on top of head and out of the way from little grabbing fingers. Just spin hair into a pile on your head, twist in the hair pin and voila, it stays.
