Comments about Grandma Lucy's Artisan Freeze Dried/Grain Free Dog Food, Chicken, 3 lb: As the companion of 2 large dogs I find using Lucy's mixed with their dry dog food works the best. My breeder suggested 3 cups of a certain high grade dry food to 1 cup Lucy's, 3 to 1 ratio. Lucy's is not cheap but what good dog food is cheap? My boys look great, are very active, and happy. One WAS a very, very fussy eater. Now he loves to eat. When I add the warm water to the Lucy's they come a running. I no longer waste money throwing away uneaten dog food. Comments about Grandma Lucy's Artisan Freeze Dried/Grain Free Dog Food, Chicken, 3 lb: After trying The Honest Kitchen twice, and my chihuahua simply not liking it, I gave up and was feeding her Spot's Stew dry food. I tried home cooked food for her, and she loved it, but with a super busy schedule, it just became too time consuming. I happened across Grandma Lucy's and decided to give it a try. My dog loves it! I was worried about the big chunks of chicken, but they break up very easily. I like that the food rehydrates within just a few minutes. Overall great food! It is a bit expensive and I can see how owners of large breeds may find it a bit much, but for a 3 pound chihuahua, even a small bag will last a little while. Definitely will be purchasing this again! Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about Grandma Lucy's Artisan Freeze Dried/Grain Free Dog Food, Chicken, 3 lb: Our puppy was started on this from his breeder. We also mix in raw meat and he is very healthy and active and growing fast. Great for small dogs. May be cost prohibitive for big eaters! Cons Best Uses Comments about Grandma Lucy's Artisan Freeze Dried/Grain Free Dog Food, Chicken, 3 lb: Good stuff! My dog loves the flavor, but since she is 97#, I am unable to afford this as her regular food. I mix about 2 heaping tablespoons into her grain-free kibble. Otherwise, I'd be broke if this was her only food. It is way too expensive to feed to a large breed dog! Comments about Grandma Lucy's Artisan Freeze Dried/Grain Free Dog Food, Chicken, 3 lb: My 2 papillons would not eat this. The chuncks of chicken in it are large, I broke them up before adding water. The rest of ingred.,looked liked mashed potatoe flakes, and were mushy after adding water. I used less water then recommened, still too mushy. I was very dissapointed in this food. The treats are great. Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend (1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Cons Best Uses
Comments about Grandma Lucy's Artisan Freeze Dried/Grain Free Dog Food, Chicken, 3 lb: Sparky is an older pug/chihuahua, who has lost most of his teeth, so he needs food that is very SOFT. This fits the bill, and it's one of the few foods he willingly eats. I do add a little extra water, to make it easier for him to eat, and I soak it a little longer than recommended, to make it softer for him. Because he's a small dog, we don't need to use very much to satisfy his appetite, and this is more economical than the other ready-mixed wet dog foods. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (2 of 2 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Yes / No - You may also flag this review Displaying reviews 1-9
