I decided to buy the brand name cream with the major ingredient I was given via perscription based on a visit to the Dr. a few years ago for the same thing. Yeast never leaves my body for good so I have to deal with this periodically. This cream did the trick, actually better than the other store brands have. Comments about Gyne-Lotrimin 7 Vaginal Cream 7 Day, 7 ea: I had gotten a nasty yeast infection after 3 courses of antibiotics. I saw the great reviews and decided to give this a try. I'm so glad I did. By the 2nd day my symptoms were gone. It never burned or stung! The only con I had was it only came with one applicator which you have to wash after each use. What a pain! Pros

Symptoms were gone after 3 days of use and this cleared up my infection for the most part after using the full tube and the applicator it came with. I was skeptical about how sanitary it would be to wash and reuse the applicator but it seemed to work just fine. I will definitely repurchase this in the event I get another yeast infection. Pros

When monistat cream came on the market it became harder and harder to find lotrimin... many people are allergic to monistat cream, if you are one of those people who found out the hard way that monistat cream is not for you.... I am very sorry. I wish our society would remember' just because a product has been around for a long time it doesn't mean it's not good, and just because something new comes along it doesn't mean it's better.... I have had burning reactions to some of the more powerful creams, (myconazole nitrate, and the one day treatments available over-the-counter,) and this one is the only one that is gentle enough for my system.. Even the generics that try to copy it, tend to add in too many other burning ingredients. Soothing for a sensitive bladder, irritated by a vaginal amonia-like odor, caused by a sudden change in diet. (Or a sudden stop in taking a multitude of vitamins.) Thank you drugstore.com for carrying it! Pros

Takes longer than three day but does not have burning if you have sensitive skin. Three day version is faster and stronger but can have mild burning with three day compared to seven day version.
