I apply this in the shower when my hair is soaking wet, as soon as I finish rinsing out my conditioner. My hair stays nice and curly without sticking to my head, and I have very minimal frizz if my hair isn't touched or manipulated a lot while drying. I've tried many other products for hair like mine and they all left me with frizz galore. This one works well, and the strange smell is negligible, so perhaps the reviewer before me got a bad bottle, since both my bottles smell fine and were purchased at different times. Highly recommend for African American or very curly hair with hard to control frizz.

I was very disappointed with this product. After reading the reviews I understood that the smell would not be good but I didn't expect it to linger throughout the entire day until the next washing. In the elevator someone had commented on "what stinks?" only to realize it was me! Also,it didn't manage/enhance the curls, left a residue and had a drying feel to it. Sadly, as I have always liked or loved my past purchases, I threw out all of the "return" info. so I'm stuck with it! Don't you be!
