I use it after I apply my lip liner and before lipstick/gloss. However, if I'm out in the sun I'll reapply the Lip Balm pretty frequently. I ordered it due to the high SPF content hoping for the best but expecting a nasty tasting product. Boy was I surprised! Not only does it protect our sensitive lips from the cruel sun, it tastes and smells delicious! Fruity and sweet but not overbearing. Will reorder when I run out :)

I was drawn to the broad-spectrum SPF 45, and the promise of a tropical scent. The high SPF rating seems to be effective, as long days in the desert have yet to result in a sunburn with this product. However, I was disappointed by the fact that the product wears off so quickly; one minute it's waxy and heavy, the next it's gone. That fact alone makes me apply and reapply the balm all day long, to be sure I'm still getting the SPF...and perhaps a little moisture, which this balm doesn't really provide. The tropical flavor is actually pretty gross after awhile, and unlike the product itself, never seems to go away. Plus, like other high-SPF lip products, the sunscreen tastes terrible when it gets in your mouth. I don't plan to repurchase this balm.

Only high SPF Lip balm I could find without castor oil, which causes me to break out in hives. This is effective and I like the smell.

I just don't understand... How does that have good reviews?? I bought this on a whim because I love lip balm, as well as tropical scents. Not only does this not moisturize, it smells terrible. It has a very strong chemical scent and the formula is greasy, thin and not the least bit moisturizing. I rarely throw anything like this away because I'll normally find some other use for it, but this went straight into the garbage. Do yourself a favor and skip this.

This lip balm performs in a similar manner as other brands I have tried. It seems like it is effective, but it must be reapplied more often than regular lip balm. It is nice to have a product with such a high SPF.

I do like the SPF factor. I do like the taste (coconut). I think it's too dry as a stick don't feel it makes lips softer, but i'm fairly sure it protects against the elements. I prefer a gel tube with a Vaseline consistency.

I can't find this lip balm anywhere but on-line. It's the only one that's really effective for me as I'm out in the sun a lot. The only thing I don't like is the flavor. Eck. They made a Vanilla Mint but can't find it.

I was very disappointed in this lip balm. I love tropical scents and have always been a fan of Hawaiian Tropic products. I noticed the "Tropical" lip balm and had to have it. I read the reviews and noticed that one of them mentioned a terrible chemical taste. I am not one that typically buys lip balm for the taste and I don't believe that I lick my lips excessively so, since the other reviews were positive, I thought this wouldn't be a problem. I was wrong. The chemical taste was immediately apparent and I had to wipe the lip balm off. It must not be a consistent formula because I can't believe the reviews were overall so positive based on the experience I had ... you may be lucky. I will not purchase this again.

This lip product tastes awful. Great, it has sunscreen but smells and tastes like rotting cocoanuts. I hate it. Doesn't really last long, after a while will start going pasty white on the corners of the lips, protects, but just tastes terrible.
