This product is great for reducing hunger pains and preventing weight gain. If I'm going some place where I know there will be tempting treats, before I leave the house I will mix 3 tablespoons of these Chia seeds in water and drink it down. They're tasteless and don't clump in water like Chia meal does; this product is also significantly cheaper than the Chia meal from WF. Also, I take meds for bipolar illness which tend to increase my appetite; these seeds have come in handy to help curb my appetite. Because my meds create constipation, I find that ingesting about 6 tablespoons of this product really, really helps (powdered magnesium also is effective).

I've been drinking Chia Seed shakes with Almond Milk and Agave Nectar for breakfast for a few months now and thought I'd try this because it was less expensive than my usual brands. I thought,"how different could it be?"

Big mistake. For some reason the seeds tasted extremely bitter when chewed, and left a bad metallic taste in my mouth. I'll be sticking to my other brands from now on.

Comments about Healthy Origins White Chia Seed, 16 oz:

I am a fairly new user of Chia. It is doing what I expected which is making me feel full and it seems to digest well and is good for the bowels. I use the product mostly in yogurt, oatmeal, scrambled eggs or omlet (I let them set for 10-15 min. before cooking) and in my homemade vegetable soup. I do have one problem. It is with the difference in the information on the label shown online and the label on the jar itself. The online label says there are 6 grams of fiber in 1 Tablespoon and the jar says there are 6 grams of fiber in 2 Tablespoons. The higher fiber content is one reason I chose this brand. There are some other differences. How do I know which one is correct? This will not keep me from reordering this product, but I would like to know how much fiber I am getting.

Doesn't have a taste you have to hide. I try to get my calcium from foods not pills. Chia seeds are a great source. They are also a complete protien. I like the crunch it gives to whatever I add it to.

Comments about Healthy Origins White Chia Seed, 16 oz:

I make a glass of lemonade using a lemon and real sugar (I don't like artificial sweeteners) every evening and mix the white chia seeds into it. I refrigerate it and drink it the next morning. The seeds are soft and easy to swallow that way. I prefer this method to chewing the hard seeds. The seeds don't alter the taste of my homemade lemonade. It's a great way for the seeds to facilitate my digestive system. They also fill me up, which is good for weight loss. There's no downside to Healthy Origin's White Chia Seeds. I recommend this product.
