First time I have been able to spend a lot of time in the sun and not breakout due to sun allergy. Used it on my trip to Mexico and I would say it had 90% effectiveness. You do have to use it with sunscreen but in the past I would breakout even if I used sunscreen.

I have a very rare hematological disorder called Porphyria. There are 8 different types-- but the sort I was born with causes a variety of acute symptoms which affect my whole body. This happens in response to light and stress (along with certain dietary triggers). This supplement has resulted in my being able to leave the house for at least 3 hours in the daylight (which hasn't been possible most days for a long while)-- as long as I plan carefully and take the pills as instructed. I take two pills per day.

I have no cons or side effects to list from my experience.

This is what you use when you want to boost your sun block/sun cream. I've used it on myself and my family (some of whom burn VERY easily). With one pill in the morning, and some sun block nobody burned even on a sailing cruise in the Aegean. Or when I went to Florida in the winter. It's the best.

Taking the supplement as suggested by my Dermatologist to help treat and protect my skin. I am in treatment for Lichen Planus skin eruptions, and auto immune disorder... It seems it takes several months to expect clearing up... I have only been taking the caplets a couple of weeks, and do not know yet how well it will work.

Even though the product works realy good, it has yellow no. 5 food coloring which can cause cancer. Why they need to put in a food coloring in a health product i dont know !!!

I also suffer from Polymorphous Light Eruption and the first day I took these pills my bumps diminished. It is saving my vacation and when looking up the fern extract, I only find good information about it! Not only is it used for sun protection, but it has shown benefits to other skin disorders and brain cells! Crazy!

I live in Southern California and am very fair. Even though I would always wear topical sunscreen, if I spent more than 30 minutes in the sun I would get rash and looked flushed. Since Heliocare I can tolerate the sun and no more rashes. I still apply topical sunscreen but Heliocare gives me that added protection. It's expensive but I swear by it for added sun protection.

If you use this product without going in the sun, it will diminish the brown freckles or age spots over a period of time.
Using it before going out in the sun does help to keep the damage down...BUT you still need to use sunscreen!!!

We were staying at the beach and I was (and still am) taking Heliocare. I was the only one NOT to get sunburned. We were all using topical sunscreen as well, but the sun in Thailand is strong and I am pretty pale : ) so it was great.
