Comments about Honeywell QuietCare, Ultra Quiet HEPA Air Cleaner, Model 17000, 1 ea: I have really bad allergies and recently had sinus surgery. My allergist recommended this. I can say my allergies (airborne inside and outside) are pretty bad and my sinus issues have subsided. This unit is loud, I wouldn't call it quiet. I can sleep with it on the lowest setting (I like the ambient noise), but my wife can't. That being said, I turn it on in our bedroom in the morning, and turn it off at night, so it runs all day in our bedroom, which is where we spend a third of our life. I will also sometimes take it to other rooms in the house, as it is extremely easy to move around the house with the handle in the top of the unit. I bought in December, and I just got a warning to replace the carbon pre-filter (March). It is also interesting when you open it up and you see all the allergens that have been caught by the pre-filter. I would recommend this filter to anyone with airborne alletgies, and sinus issues for it's ability to remove allergens from the air, portability, and different speeds. It could be a little quieter, but for the price I think this is a very fair compromise.

Comments about Honeywell QuietCare, Ultra Quiet HEPA Air Cleaner, Model 17000, 1 ea: I am currently working in the middle east and it is constantly dusty, hazey and on occasions a sand storm at my location. when I am in my bedroom I find refuge from the dirt, dust, sand, etc. Also, the air filter keeps my AC unit clean in my room. So, for the third of my life while I am here (when I am sleeping) I breath easy. Also, this unit does make modest background noise but I find that it makes sleeping that much better.

Comments about Honeywell QuietCare, Ultra Quiet HEPA Air Cleaner, Model 17000, 1 ea: Having been duped by [...] IonicBreeze (which eventually broke beyond repair), I found this is a good, highly affordable replacement. I can definitely tell the difference in air quality after having it on for a couple of hours. But it isn't what I'd call "ultra quiet." The lowest setting is fairly quiet--it sounds like white noise but it's still too loud for me to fall asleep. So the medium & high settings aren't really quiet at all. Otherwise it's a fine product. Comments about Honeywell QuietCare, Ultra Quiet HEPA Air Cleaner, Model 17000, 1 ea: I just got this purifier and I love it so far. As I understand, there is no such thing as a 'good' air purifier that does not require replacing of filters.
Comments about Honeywell QuietCare, Ultra Quiet HEPA Air Cleaner, Model 17000, 1 ea: This is a very good purifier for the price. I ended up buying one for the living room as well because I was so impressed with how much better I was sleeping with one in my bedroom. I keep mine on low, which is pretty quiet, but I still have to replace the pre-filters every two months like clockwork. If you're looking for a purifier with a truly permanent filter, this isn't for you. I'm happy with mine, but next time I'll spring for one that doesn't have any parts to replace.
