I've had edema in my hands for years. If I walk or travel it can be quite uncomfortable. These gloves provide just the right amount of aid and compression for my needs. I have 3 pairs of these active ones with the nibs. But for those who are curious they are pretty much the same gloves as those without the nibs just with the nibs. So the question comes up if the nibs are worth approx 7 dollars more a pair. Which is quite a lot and for me I'd say I have about 10 pairs of the regular and 3 of these with nibs. I'm hoping the nibs will help protect the gloves when I need to be more hands on with gardening equipment etc. Otherwise most of you might not gain reason to pay for the nibs. Another use is if you are into yoga or excercise I am certain the nibs would help for not slipping on your mat when stretched out on your palms and also help hold onto any weights or such in use better than the none nibbed gloves overall. So there is value it's just what is your activity in life and does it make sense to pay for the nibs or not. I use weights 8-15 pounds is all. I ride a bike & prefer the nibbed gloves now when I ride. I could be imagining it but I think the fingers are a tad longer on the nibbed gloves which works for me as my finger tips will swell at the ends that are exposed on either. I often pull the finger ends out towards the end of my fingers in attempt to prevent this. Tugging at them often throughout the day. I also wear either style of gloves to bed & now use or add the wrist wrapping with velcro adjustment to the gloves at night too as it has helped a lot in my swollen wrists and sore wrist joints. Even ganglion cysts that form I'm assuming due to the swelling issues the gloves helped. Overall for me these Imak items work well. I wash the gloves by machine but air dry. I put them in a netted bag & one reason I have so many pairs is that way I can catch up on the laundry once a week or less & not run out of a fresh clean pair. Only negatives is I have to take them off to do dishes or use the restroom shower etc. But then so would I do that with any similar item it's not the items fault it's the swelling. Also for those who mention they don't get any relief with these gloves I can empathize at one time my swelling hadn't gone down for over a year and didn't look like anything would help. No diuretic's worked and then taking a generic Tagamet for stomach problems was linked to my hands reduced swelling and even approaching normal. Just one 12 hour tablet over a 24 hour time. However after 3-4 months I had side effects and had to stop using it. I read that it could act like a diuretic or similar since but that was 11 years ago. But it might be worth a trial as the generic tagamet is pretty reasonable priced. But watch out for heart issues or any other serious side effects that mean you should stop use of it. But the gloves might not work to get certain causes of edema under control. Give them a week before giving up on them even if you use them just at night. For me it's a blessing and has helped with the loose dry skin due to the swelling & deflation that has stretched the skin on the back of my hands too. A little quality skin creme going to bed under the gloves helps with that too. Overall highly recommend either of these gloves and the wrap around wrist strap. And the breathable cotton fabric and no latex is right on for me. (The gloves used to not say latex free but they do now.)
