However the first time I used it was to block the light when I was trying to nap after working almost all night to meet a deadline. Normally after working all night, I have trouble falling asleep. I'm also fidgety in that I don't like anything on my head or on my feet or over my eyes-- but the light was bothering me. I tried this and not only did it block the light, but I was also out. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I don't know if it stops headache pain. I just know that the product worked wonders for me-- even without the refrigeration. VS Most Liked Negative Review Ok, but not fantastic for migraines I bought this eye mask to use with awful migraines- because something cool on my forehead plus blocking out all light helps. If kept in the freezer, the mask does get nice and chilled. For a while (maybe 10-15 minutes), it feels soothing and cool. After that, it feels warm. Because it is packed with little beads, it acts as an insulator and gets uncomforatbly warm. The manufacturer suggests that the beads make it feel cool even without prepping it in the freezer. That is not what I experienced. For blocking out light, it works very well. There are little stitches over the eyes which create little pockets of space right over your eyelids. That is good if you have eye makeup or contacts. Once it is on, you can squish the beads around to block out the light very effectively. It applies a little bit of nice, even pressure to the forehead and eye area. The elastic band is thin so it is comfortable, but it is not adjustable and seems to stretch out a bit over time. Because it has a bit of weight, it works well when I lay on my back, but when I turn on my side it slides down towards the pillow some and does not fit quite as well. I still use it fresh out of the freezer for migraines, but have to switch to a different eye mask once it warms up. I imagine that if one wanted to warm it up to use with sinus pain, it would be quite comfortable. It's not the best for travel because it has a little weight and takes up a bit of space. Comments about IMAK Eye Mask, Pain Relief, 1 ea: Great when you need something cold on our eyes. It's the only mask I've found that has eye indentations and (due to the beads) will conform to individual faces. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about IMAK Eye Mask, Pain Relief, 1 ea: I get very bad migraines. I have about 6 different ice pack. This one is by far the best. It doesn't stay cold long enough to get through a long migraine but the chill is delivered without a blast of cold which is really gentle. I just bought 3 more (no I am not associated with the company). I'll keep them in the freezer and my wife will swap them during a headache. I think the longest that one will last is 45 minutes or so. Comments about IMAK Eye Mask, Pain Relief, 1 ea: This one is the only eye mask that I've ever actually found I like to use every night. And that's saying a lot. I find it very comfortable and the cotton like fabric is breathable and the beadings are comfy and the way they sewed the area flat over the eye itself is quite helpful in letting you open your eyes. If a spot of light is leaking in an area you can just press down on the beads to smooth them over the crack and it's black out again time. You would think a thicker and heavier mask would be annoying or less comfortable but oh my it's just the opposite. I've tried at least 3 other masks over the years and some highly recommended but this one is the one that works and is comfortable enough to stay on over night and I find I don't fuss at it. Now the negative as already numerous times complained about is the strap. Really a 1/4 inch or less elastic strap expecting to hold this almost 3.6 ounce mask I weighed it...on and hold up too every night use. NO no no. It fails and the seams give up at the sides. I sew therefore I can repair and replace with a variety of other choices like a strap with adjustible velcro..the light weight soft kind and also just a bit more substantial but better and reinforced attached elastic band. Otherwise if it wasn't for this not so little issue this mask would be fantastic. A bonus is massaging the beads with your fingers around the forehead and bones around the eyes. Especially across the bridge of your nose I just do that now almost every night I'm settled down into bed and relaxing off to sleep. Please Imak fix the next generation model with a better strap. But bottom line I'll buy another just replace the strap on that one right off...so I don't find it breaking in the middle of the night or just after I get in bed and have to either get up to fix it then or do without the mask until I find time to get to it. Comments about IMAK Eye Mask, Pain Relief, 1 ea: I have recurrent headaches/migraines and fibromyalgia. By wearing this each night it reduces the intensity of migraines and how often I get them. I fall asleep much faster as it relaxes the muscles around the eyes. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about IMAK Eye Mask, Pain Relief, 1 ea: Bottom line I would recommend but note the bad strap as a light filtering/blocking mask that is very comfortable. I like to massage the beads sort of kneading them around my forehead and under the eyes and over the nose with fingers. But basically for me it's just a comfortable light blocking mask that doesn't seem to annoy me like all others I've tried over the years. I'm a fixer so fixed the poor wispy elastic on this mask. Really Imax needs to upgrade the band this mask obviously is a bit heavier than most of the others out there. Such be the case I find it comfortable and less tendency to remove during my sleep. (One star off for whimpy strap.) Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Comments about IMAK Eye Mask, Pain Relief, 1 ea: I use this for headache pain and migraines. It has lots of potential, but is smaller than looks on box picture--barely reaches edge of eyes.
