I found that I didn't need as much of this product as I would normally use with another primer. When I used my "normal" amount it actually dried my skin and it also made me break out.

But it really does control the shine!!! Now I only have to blot once or twice a day and even then the shine isn't terrible.

I have combination-to oily skin and I can say that this product does not control oil at all. it even makes parts of my skin which usually are not oily, really really oily, and pores seem to become more visible.
I'm switching back to Clinique. Even though it's more expensive than this product, Clinique really does its job, it minimizes pores and keeps my entire face shine-free during the whole day.

Usually I mix a primer or oil control gel in with my tinted moisturizer. When I tried with Iman it got flaky on my skin and I had to gently brush away the flakes. So I tried it alone and didn't create that problem. It controlled the oil but didn't create that matte/airbrush look that I prefer. But I will use it on the weekends while running errands. It's worth trying to see what you think...the price seemed reasonable.

I have extremely oily skin with very few breakouts or blemishes. I put on makeup around 7am and usually by 9 or 10, my face is completely shiny. I used the Iman product until it was all gone hoping it would minimize the oily shine. It worked only for a few hours. At about 10am, I wasn't as oily as I would have been w/o it, but I still needed to clean up the oil and refresh my makeup just as often.

After being a MaryKay fanatic for years, I grew tired of the whole find a consultant, place an order, yada yada yada. I was introduced to Iman cosmetics and must say that I am very impressed. The oil control primer worked well for my skin and the oiliness I would develop within 2 to 3 hrs of applying makeup. In the beginning I was a little apprehensive after reading the previous reviews, but I must say that all in all, the product did well for me. I would recommend this product for others to try.

I did not see or feel any difference. I still have to wash and reapply my makeup at midday. However, I love Iman makeup and I will continue to buy them but not this product.

I don't mind a little bit of shine so I don't use this everyday but for photos or days when I know my skin is going to look too shiny this works perfect. I have tried many primers and I can say this is the only one that doesn't make my skin look chalky. It past the ultimate test when I was in the piping hot sun one day and although I was pretty sweaty my face was still shine free - in a natural way!

For my middle-aged, combination/oily skin, this is the ONLY primer that minimizes pores and smooths my skin, and actually reduces oil shine. ALL other primers, especially those that are made for oily skin, make my face look oily within a couple of hours. This one actually WORKS, and the price is right. It isn't sticky when dry. Mineral makeup can be applied almost immediately after applying this primer. I can barely even smell the fragrance in this product, and it's not a concern for me at all. Performance is what I'm looking for.

While this does a decent job of controlling oil it made me break out with cystic acne. I can't use it anymore.

I always try different products to see which one fits best for me. I thought I would give this a try because the price was reasonable. This is a great buy for the money. It helps with my oily skin and gives my skin a smooth base to apply makeup.

I've tried primers from Laura Mercier, Smashbox and Sephora, which didn't work well with my oily skin and large pores. Those brands seemed to clog my large pores and I had terrible breakouts. In all fairness, I used their primers specializing in extra oily skin, so maybe the consistency was thicker than the regular versions. My favorite is GloMinerals and Iman's primer is definitely comparable.

It's very lightweight and helps minimize the look of pores. I would definitely recommend it. It doesn't have the greatest smell but it does the trick.
