As a con, I did check "damages hair" but really, what heat tool doesn't?! Just remember to always use heat protectant. I use tresemme thermal creations.

New to conair products - easy to use - had previous curling iron 20 yrs and it's still kicking. Read the reviews here & another site and Conair ceramic irons came out extrodinarily high with the reviewers. It really heats up quickly and exceedingly hot so be careful. If this iron works for another five years I consider it GREAT, if it doesn't well what can I say. Oh ya, '[*]'. I have very, very, thin short, color treated hair and so FAR, it's a nice iron. I just hope it don't, you know what to the BED in a few weeks like one of the reviews stated. I will be very disappointed.

I am not the best with a curling iron and haven't bought one in years but this one is so much better than any I have used in the past. Why spend the $$ on a CHI when this works great. My hair is naturally straight but this curled it right up and it stayed all day and was still a little wavy with some style the following day. Wish they had it with a larger barrel - I would buy that one too!

There is only a very small area at the tip that does not get hot. I have burned my forehead,and fingers in using the product. My previous curler was a Conair, so I expected the same cool area at the tip. This product does do a great job of curling, however.
