my sister recommended these to me right after i had major surgery on my knee. I started my period maybe 2 days later, and was in way too much pain to be constantly going to the bathroom to change or check on a tampon. with these, i didn't need to to change my protection as often, they are way more comfortable, there is only one 'size', and i can wear them when i sleep. i also like the idea of not needing to spend extra money on something that hasn't been soaked and sprayed with bleaches and chemicals, like the cotton most tampons are made from.

It look me a little while to get the hang of inserting & removing it, but I haven't had any problems since then. It's also nice to be able to wear protection for 12 hours.

I love how easy the softcup is to use, once you get used to it. Read the instructions carefully and use it for the first time on a day you're going to be home for awhile. I had to re-adjust it the first couple of times I used it. Once you get it in right, it's great. Can't feel it at all, very secure, you can even have mess free sex with it in. It's nice that you don't have to guess how heavy of a flow you're going to have today, the way you do with tampons. The downside is, they can be messy to remove. It's not a big deal at home, but could be in public. Keep a rubber glove in your purse, problem solved. Bottom line, they are easier and more economical than tampons.

I found using the softcups very simple to insert and remove, also very comfortable but unfortunately they did not work for me at all! On my heavy days I had to go back to my tampax because they leaked so much. Removal is very messy. If you love this product but hate the mess I would recommend the disposable gloves for removal.

I think this is an absolutely great product. Squeeze it together to insert, and push behind the pubic bone. (This is very important) No leakage, even during hanky panky. Taking out is easy enough- slip your index finger (the fingernail side) behind the rim (just behind the pubic bone), and gently pull out. Caution: It can be messy to remove, so I take mine out in the shower, and rinse it before discarding it. If you have to take it out in a bathroom, just make sure you scootch back on the toilet so that you don't drip onto the seat or the floor. I'd then scoop a little clean toilet water to swish in it and dump before discarding. The shower is best, though... I think the convenience of these far outweighs this last issue. I am a teacher, and have little time to be running to the bathroom all day! I have never used them to swim with, so I can't comment on that.

I have been using this product for over 14 years and I would not want to go through a menstrual cycle without it!

Because the cup is worn inside of your body and collects the menstrual fluid, there is very little to none of the odor and messiness that is usually associated with menstruation. Once you get the hang of it, inserting the cups is quite simple.

The only negative thing I can say about this product is that it always leaks just the tiniest bit. Therefore, I have always worn a very thin pad or panty liner to protect my clothing. for me, the benefit of being able to keep myself very clean and oderless outweighs the minor inconvenience of having to also wear a pad.

I LOVE how long you can wear it, without the risk of TSS! Cleaner to dispose of than tampons - if you swish it in the toilet. A little messy to remove.

I was very excited to find these. I wanted the Diva Cup, but I was afraid that I would not like it, so I got these to try something similar. Well, I understand why people buy the Diva Cup. I have no idea how I am different from other women "down there", but I found it VERY difficult to remove. It was like the thing got lost! The instructions make it seem so easy, but I had to fight this thing to get it out. I stayed in battle for almost an hour. I tried every position I could imagine. The suction was hard core. I pulled at it until I tore it. That wasn't the end of it all. I still could not get my fingers anywhere near the ring part. Maybe I am built wrong, but this thing seemed to be gone. As you can imagine, I went from loving this to hating it right away. After a long period of panic, I found something to stick in there and hook the ring. Yes, this was as gross as it sounds. Luckily this was not a heavy day. It was great at first. I couldn't feel it. I slept in it without any leaking. I was thrilled at the idea of getting rid of pads and tampons. Tampons never really worked for me alone. Maybe it would be better with a string or something, but for now it isn't worth it to me to try it again.
