They take the headache out of having a period. I never could stand the feeling of wearing pads, and tampons worked okay, but I have such a heavy flow I'd have to change them all the time, and I was constantly leaking. I decided to try Insteads when I went on a cruise, because you can wear them for up to 12 hours. This sounded better to me than trying to constantly change tampons while enjoying the beach in a swimsuit. Lo and behold, they were wonderful. VS Most Liked Negative Review I would rather use tampons I bought Instead because I liked the idea that it can be used during intercourse. I would rather use tampons and wait a couple days for sex. Comments about Instead 12 Hour Feminine Protection Cup, 24 ea: I love this product. I used to use OBs, but having sensitive skin, the Instead is better because there's no cotton/absorbency. This is the best product. The only suggestion I have on heavy days is to have some kind of pantiliner or light pad as a backup. Still, I would never go back! Comments about Instead 12 Hour Feminine Protection Cup, 24 ea: Great product, life during periods has been so much more convenient ever since I've been exploring the world beyond tampons or pads. I used a permanent menstrual cup (e.g., Mooncup/Diva Cup) before I tried Instead Softcups, so I had an idea of what to expect going in. However, though both are used internally and can provide many more hours of protection, there are some important differences. The Instead Softcup was immediately easier to insert on the first try than my Mooncup, as you just squeeze it shut into an non-intimidating 'line' rather than having to apply a complex set of folds as with the Mooncup. Removal is also much easier with the Instead Softcup, and the learning curve for removal is much smaller--the rim sits much closer to the vaginal opening than a Mooncup would, with a different resting position, resulting in less fishing around and eliminating the first time 'oh my god I lost it!' freak out. But despite these advantages over the Mooncup, I will definitely continue to use my permanent cup alongside the Softcups--Instead Softcups are messier, and they do create more waste as they're per use only. Every time I've taken it out, there's a spill; whereas with the Mooncup, I've never spilled--not even on my first time. However, you do need to empty out a permanent cup, so I suppose there are different 'kinds' of messiness. Overall, I love both; if you've already got a permanent cup, these are definitely handy in a pinch (more travel friendly) and worth picking up over an emergency tampon box--just keep in mind a few of the differences! Also, a very good intro to a permanent cup if you haven't used them! Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Comments about Instead 12 Hour Feminine Protection Cup, 24 ea: These are GREAT on lighter days. Tampons are so much less hygienic over the course of a day, but these are out of sight, out of mind. HOWEVER--trying to remove one of these on a moderate or, heaven forbid, heavy day is just...GROSS. And that's in the privacy and comfort of your own bathroom. If you're at a restaurant or friend's or hotel...forget it. And as far as using during intercourse...it's possible but not ideal. Comments about Instead 12 Hour Feminine Protection Cup, 24 ea: It was so easy to put in and take out and you really do feel like you are not wearing anything. I can always feel tampons and of corse pads, the only thing is my flow is too heavy to wear the first two days but I love that I can finish out my cycle as if I have nothing on. Comments about Instead 12 Hour Feminine Protection Cup, 24 ea: You will have to get used to using Softcups, but don't give up if it is awkward at first. It takes a few cycles to get it just right (inserted properly, change frequency etc.), but once you get it right you will NEVER want to use anything else. I no longer even feel like I'm having my period! You can't feel it, it's easy to insert and remove, and protects very well. I use disposable vinyl gloves to remove/insert in public restrooms, which I then wrap inside the wrapper with the used Softcup - this allows more discretion and cleanliness..... I highly recommend this product! Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Yes / No - You may also flag this review 12/5/2011 Pretty awesome! Pros

Comments about Instead 12 Hour Feminine Protection Cup, 24 ea: I absolutely love this product. I only gave it four stars, though, bc even though the package states you can wear up to twelve hours, that has never been okay with me. I have very heavy periods and the max I can go is eight hours. I do recommend using liners on day 1 and 2, bc you will have some leaks. I also recommend to carry latex gloves with you for when you need to remove the cup in a public restroom, bc your fingers will get messy. I love this product bc despite being a very small figured woman (5 feet, 96 lbs) I have heavy, stain the bed periods. Tampons and pads are just useless and time-consuming for me. I use the Diva Cup at home and these are primarily for on the go. I read a lot of reviews of ladies experiencing pain and difficulty to insert and remove, but it isn't all that difficult and horrid. I will admit the first few times it was awkward, but it took about four tries to get it right. Easiest way to insert is to lift legs as in a crouch down position, relax groin muscles, and insert with middle finger until you feel the tip of pubic bone. To remove, insert middle finger behind pubic bone and feel for rim of cup, then hook finger tip into it and pull downward and out. They are absolutely comfortable and unnoticeable when inserted properly. So comfortable, I even forgot I was wearing it one time and attempted to insert another! This is a wonderful product and I wish more stores would carry it, bc ordering online is inconvenient sometimes. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about Instead 12 Hour Feminine Protection Cup, 24 ea: This is my go-to period protection; all I use. It's comfortable (put it in and forget it) and very effective, especially great for long term and overnight use. It's really super easy once you learn how to insert and remove it. Really great product. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Yes / No - You may also flag this review 11/21/2011 Fantastic product Pros

Comments about Instead 12 Hour Feminine Protection Cup, 24 ea: I love this product and will never go back to using anything else. I will admit, it took me a few tries to get it right. I found a video online that showed how to use it correctly (don't worry...it's not weird). The second month I used it was much easier...soon after I was a pro! I've been using this product for 1.5 years now. Some people change the cup frequently, but I use one cup per cycle, emptying and washing as needed. You'll get used to it, and love it! Comments about Instead 12 Hour Feminine Protection Cup, 24 ea: This product is not for everyone. My 13 year old would never ever try it. But, I am loyal to a non-applicator brand. And, I am not squeemish when it comes to such things. So, I tried it, but only after reading all the reviews I could find. I bought a pack of clear thin shower caps (like used for hair coloring or hot oil treatments, not for showers). I cover my hand with 1 and use it while sitting on the commode to help with disposal and less splatter. I saw a video where they recommend to lift up while pulling out. That helped too with getting more liquid in the toilet than on the hand and body. The used one goes in the hair cap and my hand stays clean. Wipe well, insert new one. I don't think it makes any more noise than using a pad, or tampon, or the little bags in the hygiene box in the ladies room. We're all adults at my job, so I guess I don't really care about noise. I changed every 12 hours, and was not interested in intercourse during. (Sorry, that's just me.) Absolutely no leaks or odor! But, I wear liners, just in case. Like others have said, I was able to squeeze out liquid while it was still inside of me by doing kegels. I will not go back to pads or tampons unless I just do not have the means to do this. I would recommend to anyone who is able to be completely clinical about its use.
