I'm surprised by how many people say the seals fail. My experience is the opposite. However, I have learned to listen for the telltale hiss once I've turned off the vacuum. If you hear any sound, you need to check the seal/zip lock. I will say that I've had to manually seal a few bags which is no fun for your fingers. They do not shrink down to perfect cubes, they are not stackable, but they are easier to pack than the traditional space bags. I haven't had any trouble with them ripping. but I am careful. They are best for big fluffy items, but will also do a good job of protecting dense items from "basement smell" even if they don't shrink down a lot.

I've bought a few of these bags in the past and some didn't work properly but I figured it was the batch of boxes I got from the hardware store. This time around, the bags filled up with air after a few days. The instructions are easy to follow so it must be the bags that are inefficient.

I love this concept, although when you suck all the air out of the bags, it becomes a mis-shapen rock of items, especially the extra large bags. unfortunately, its been about two weeks and i peek under my bed and some of the air has been released back into the bag so it loses the ability to hold the seal. i think it will still be nice for keeping items together and moths out, but not a tight seal.

The space bags were so exciting. My piles of baby clothes were neatly compressed in these space bags. the problem arose when overtime, they would leak and air would fill into them. So they would expand and overwhelm my closet again.

My boyfriend talked me into trying the space bags. I'm on the fence. PROS - They work very well for clothing and big airy items like comforters. CONS - When you suck the air out they take on all sorts of interesting lumpy shapes that seldom fit under a bed and are very difficult to stack.
Meaning.. technically they work but they are only practical under very specific circumstances... winter clothes under the bed, protect your bedding if you store it in a shed, basement or garage. If your storage is super tight you will want to stick with actual boxes to make the most of your space. You can't stack ANYTHING on top of these after you've sucked the air out.

Of a total of 6 pieces, 3 leaked (would not hold seal), one was torn by the closing mechanism, and 2 are still working. The ones that work do a good job of saving space,

We are going to move. So these bags are for our winter clothings which are generally fluffy and bulky. It worked great and reduce about half the size. Out of 6 bags, I tried 3. 1 of them was leaked. I emailed Spacebag[@] for about a week now and they have not yet responded. [...]Product is abit thin. So, if you try to put a lot of stuffs in side, close it with the snap (do not use zipper at the first place) first then follow with the zipper to make it tight, otherwise blue zipper can tear off the rim of the bag.I would recommend this product to a friend (Infact I already did) together with suggestion of this website for its great offer (I got 50% off second piece), [...]That's all for me.
