Comments about Ivory Bar Soap, Original, Bath Size, 16 ea:
I have used Ivory Soap for decades. I hadn't purchased any in a few years because I had stocked up and it took me a while to use it up. So I was shocked to order this soap and find out that, after all these years, the manufacturer has apparently changed the formula! It says "Original" on the label but that is definitely inaccurate. This soap has a fruity/perfumey smell, which the original Ivory didn't have. I'm really shocked that they would not only change the classic Ivory Soap after all these year, but also claim on the label that it is still the original. I strongly urge the company to bring back the REAL original Ivory Soap!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The Purity Is Visible
Ever since Ivory soap was introduced to the public in 1879, its hallmark has been its purity. Made only from soap ingredients - without any synthetics or detergents - Ivory is also free of dyes and heavy perfumes. In an analysis performed by an independent laboratory to compare the brand's purity to castile soap, common in the era, the results showed such a high rating that it was adopted as Ivory's slogan: 99.44 percent pure! Other studies have also shown that Ivory soap has superior antimicrobial activity and rinses clean, additional reasons for this soap to be enthusiastically adopted by families. The beautiful skin it leaves behind continues to make it a favorite for people of all ages.
Does Ivory soap really float? Yes, it does! From the beginning, the process of making this pure formula has involved infusing the soap with oxygen. This way the bar merrily bobs on top of the water. Despite some rumors, this was not an error. Manufacturing instructions in the company archives show that the lighter-than-water formula was meant to be a feature of each and every bar from the very beginning. Used in the days of grizzled miners, taking a spring wash while seeking their fortunes during the Klondike gold rush, to today's child splashing in her own warm bathtub, the floating Ivory soap bar is easy to find - it's right there.
