I put this liniment on and let it dry. It evaporates fast. Then put capsacian back pain patch over it. It is not greasy so the patch still sticks unlike other topical capsacian products. The two together works great!! By itself, it's not strong enough for me. It works better than the methadone I also have.

My mother used to always have this in her cabinet so when I saw it available here I purchased it. I have tender knees and exercise tends to irritate them. This liniment always helps to relieve the pain. A word of caution though, a dab will do the job...if you slather it on it seems to have a reaction to heat. I put too much on sometimes and when I cover with a blanket I really start to feel an intense burning sensation (which you can stop with cool water by the way). If used sparingly the warming is quite soothing and effective. I assure you it does not cause first degree burns, if it did people wouldn't have been using it since 1868.

I have had a very sore back for quite some time. I started using this liniment and it started working right away. I use it every day and each day the pain has gotten less and less, until I don't even feel it anymore. A lilttle dab on the painful area goes a long way. This is a great product...I would recommend to anyone.

I recently began a martial arts class and have muscular pain from the workouts. I tried the J.R. Watkins "The Original Liniment". It immediately began to give me a burning sensation that I felt was a little more than I expected. After about 5 minutes, I touched my knee and it was quite tender. I then looked at the areas where I had applied the liniment and at least 1/2 of the areas were very red and rashy and some areas appeard to have first degree burns.
For adults and children 2 years and older: Apply to affected area not more than 3-4 times daily. For children under 2 years of age: Consult a physician.
