The only con I anticipated was that he might constantly fuss to get more jellybeans, (it requires coins to get the jellybeans out), which would have quickly become annoying, but instead it seems to have placed a psychological barrier on eating many - which doesn't happen when he's got a bag of jellybeans that he just blows through until they're all gone - or lost all over the floor of the house. So ultimately, the whole point - an attractive presentation of jellybeans - has not become a problem in being a constant reminder of more candy to be eaten. It's not the dispenser's fault; it's designed correctly for a hard, round product like a gumball. But the dispenser isn't air-tight, so the jelly beans tend to stick together and clog up the dispenser mechanisim. You'll need to take it totally apart to clean the plastic pieces, and put it back together again just to have it clog after a few rotations. If Jelly Belly made a less sticky, round jelly bean product just for this machine, it might work better. Better to keep your Jelly Belly beans in a tightly sealed glass jar. The only disappointing thing was the *tiny* package of jelly beans that came with it had barely enough candy to even cover the bottom of the glass container! It would be nice if it actually came with enough candy to fill it up - as pictured! Oh well.. It comes set up so that you have to use coins to dispense the candy, but includes instructions on how to set if for coinless operation as well. All in all, it was a good gift. Pros

The problems were, it doesnt work well at all. 1) It crushes the candy when i turn it. 2) No candy was supplied as said on the box and on drugstore.com I bought my own jelly bellys [...]. On the good note. The ball that holds the candy is made of glass, and the parts on the outside are metal. The inside parts are plastic. I have taken it apart several times to try and fix it. But thats okay. And I have it for show.
