Jergens Extra Moisturizing Hand Wash is an excellent product with a distinctive Cherry Almond scent that none of the bath and body stores can duplicate. The soap is silky and creamy, always gentle on the skin and it cleans and moisturizes effectively.

Here's my gripe, however: I would like to know why Jergens has replaced the white bottles with choice of pink, white or purple flower, with a nondescript turquoise cap and a pink and turquoise label on the front of the bottle? The solid white bottles with choice of artistic flower illustration were so classic and now I find myself looking at a bottle that I at first thought was "generic packaging" for a dollar store chain, which is the only place I can locate this otherwise outstanding hand wash aside from Drugstore.com.

For years I have avoided the Soft Soap brand and even liquid soaps by Bath & Body Works because I felt the clear plastic bottles looked too messy. After all, you don't really have to see into a hand wash bottle anyhow because you can feel when it is empty and confirm that it is when the liquid hand soap no longer dispenses! Not wanting to be limited in my hand wash choices by the garishness of hand wash packaging design and the poor ergonomics of hand wash bottles, in general, I have attempted purchase decorative hand soap dispensers at department stores only to discover that they function terribly (leaking around the cap area, not having a long enough plastic stem to reach soap or lotions at the bottom of the bottle, etc.). Consequently, in order to obtain a product that actually worked as a dispenser AND as a compliment to my household color scheme, I sought out Jergens Extra Moisturizing Hand Wash, with its fantastic Cherry Almond scent. However, after seeing the new packaging with the retro '80s turquoise and pink color scheme that clashes with everything adjacent to it, I am saddened that I didn't hang on to those little white dispensers with artistic flower rendering, having instead thrown them out without suspecting I would never see them again.

Elsewhere on Drugstore.com I have found reviews by customers who assume the flower design, presently pictured, is the correct version and the newer one is some sort of mistake. Consumers don't have to be graphic artists to realize that Jergens has taken a step backward where this particular packaging design is concerned.

My first impression of the new label was that it was an lousy knockoff of the brand as is common of dollar store products. Only after visiting the Jergens/Kao brand website did I learn that this is Jergens idea of a face lift for their entire product line! Is anyone else feeling as disappointed as I am? If so, by all means take a moment to contact Jergens through their website or telephone at 1-800-742-8798! Tell 'em you don't understand why this classic hand wash, which is so difficult to find to begin with, had to be included in their product packaging redesign with a questionable 1980s teenybopper pink and turquoise color scheme! Demand that they reissue the original design for this product on the basis that it looked better in your home and stood apart on store shelves much more distinctively than the revised packaging you will find staring back at you from your bathroom or kitchen counter if you currently purchase this product!
