I damaged my hair a few months ago with "do it yourself" color. I didn't feel like I could risk using the color again and started looking for an alternative. I read about glazes and came across the Brilliant Brunette products. They stated that it might take a little while to see the effects, so I was patient. I used the shampoo & conditioner at first. It did take about a week before I started feeling a definite difference in the texture of my damaged hair. Then I added the glaze to keep the gray at bay. It worked! In another week my gray was covered, too. My hair doesn't feel like dry straw anymore and my color is really nice. I've even figured out how to do natural highlights! lol. Not an immediate fixer but definitely a good find for me. My hair is soft, touchable, and brilliant brunnette! (I did start using a latex glove to keep the glaze from staining my finger nails.)

Should be reported for false advertising. Didn't do anything the label said and didn't condition. Not impressive at all.

I have fine, wavy/curly locks. I thought that this would be a great daily shampoo for my brunette hair. It has received great reviews, but when I used it (with the light reflecting shampoo), my hair felt super-dry and I had to apply loads of serum to be able to comb my hair. My hair has responded much better to the moisturizing shampoo and conditioner for brunettes. This product would probably be better for people who have hair that is not prone to dryness.

The smell was nauseating to me, a musky cologne smell that actually gave me a head ache. I normally use TRESemme's Brunette line of shampoo and conditioner, and I have to say it blows the doors off the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette line - it's cheaper and works better on my hair. This stuff left my hair feeling like straw and I did not notice it being any shinier, softer or enhancing my dark hair. I'll keep it around as a back up until I run out of it, but won't buy it again.

I have processed hair that's relaxed and color-treated, and I love this conditioner. It's a good price and leaves my hair feeling silky and not dried out.

I like this conditioner a lot. I have thick hair with tight curls, and it makes them look fabulous. It leaves my hair feeling soft, without any frizz, but still with lots of body. It works better than anything else I've used, even salon brands. Unfortunately, I do have to use a lot of it in order to get this effect. It is surprising what a big difference it makes - if I use a modest amount - even if it feels like enough for my hair, it still doesn't leave it as bouncy and soft. It also works much better with the matching shampoo. The scent is really wonderful - I only wish it lingered a little longer after I washed my hair! I cannot give it five stars, though, because it doesn't do the things it advertises. I don't see any impact at all on the color of my hair, and it doesn't make it shiny (I can't really imagine that any product could make my hair shiny!)
