I don't know what people are expecting from this shampoo - to perform miracles maybe? - but I got exactly what I needed. I wash my (natural brown) hair every day - it's very thin and hard to fix unless it's freshly wash (plus I work in a smoking environment ), and it does a great job at hydrating it, and giving it a natural glow - in a slightly darker shade. I am picky about shampoos, but this is great any season.
Because my thin hair I chose to go with the Luxurious Volume Conditioner, and they make a good team ;)

Did nasty things to my colored, wavy hair. Almost seemed like it was coating the hair shafts in plastic. My hair was stiff and unmanageable. This could have been an interaction with my brand of color (L'Oreal Natural Match), but it made this product unusable.

Also note that the container says this product "does not deposit color," so if you're looking for something to tone down the greys, this is not the stuff.

Absolute garbage! Did not help in retaining the color of my hair. Threw it out after 2 weeks -- made my hair dry and like straw.

Comments about John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shine Release Moisturizing Shampoo for All Shades, 8.45 fl oz:

Smells good and is all seductive with its line offering your hair to be conditioned and washed with "crushed pearls". But it literally falls flat because it made my naturally curly brunette hair fall flat and reflect grayer than brunette luster. Not using this stuff every again. The whole tube (and its companion conditioner) going in the trash.

I love the smell of this, and it does make my hair soft and shiny. Unfortunately, I was hoping to enhance the red highlights I already have. It covers them up!

I have never written a review before, so this is how much I HATED this shampoo... ok, yes, my hair did have "highlights" but it was because each hair strand was stripped. I actually had to get my hair cut twice since I have used this shampoo and conditioner because of all the damage. Don't use this if you care about the health of your hair.

Comments about John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shine Release Moisturizing Shampoo for All Shades, 8.45 fl oz:

I did not like this shampoo much at all. It didn't lather the way all other shampoos do and it felt like I had to keep using more to get it to foam up. I used the shampoo and conditioner together and I didn't notice any difference in the brightness or color of my hair.

The back of the shampoo bottle says the product does not deposit any color or coloring agents into your hair, so I don't know how exactly it managed to make my hair more....well, more brilliant, but it did. Even after the first shampoo my hair was noticeably softer (before I even added the shine release conditioner). After my hair dried it was shinier, softer, and felt clean without being stripped. In addition my hair was more of a true, shiny brown, not the dull, needs-to-be-dyed-again brown it was before I washed it.

I just used this for the first time and LOVE it!! Along with the Shine Shock and Model Control Gel, this did WONDERS on my dull, fine, permed hair. It now has a pretty, healthy shine again. I would DEFINITELY recommend this...and I have MANY shampoos in my closet that did NOT work. This one does.
