The smell stays on your hair all day long, and unfortunately it's medicinal. Sort of like dog shampoo. I got the conditioner as well, and realized the smell was from the shampoo, not the conditioner, so i still use that, but haven't touched the shampoo since i figured out it was causing the smell. Didn't seem to make my hair soft or shiny either, although i only used it twice i think.

I love this shampoo! my hair is wavy but it is baby fine.
with this shampoo i get a little more movement and my brown hair shines.

I've tried other brands that say they work just as well as John Frieda. I keep coming back to this. In 3 days I can definitely tell the difference.

This is an excellent shampoo for my short, straight, color-treated hair. I use it every day with John Frieda conditioner, and It adds a noticeable amount of volume and shine. I highly recommend it.

I was excited about this one because I have fine black hair that needs all the volume it can get. This product really delivers on that side of things, but it covers up my natural red highlights and leaves my hair very dry. I also find my hair is tangled and falling out more than usual (in the shower and afterwards when I brush out the tangles).

I thought I would go with this one because while the price isn't low it's decent. If you need the matching conditioner (which I've never dealt with before), it's double what I would normally pay. I'll go with an Aveda product next time. I have a huge tub of Biolage Conditioning Balm and don't want to have to get another conditioner. To make the purchase of this shampoo worth it, though, I think I have to get the redhead conditioner.

I liked this shampoo's scent and that it seemed to enhance my (natural) color. But after using it awhile, it seemed to give me a little flakiness, which went away after I quit using it. Besides seemingly making my scalp flaky, I'd recommend it just because I like the shampoo's smell.

I love this product. I've been using it for a few years now, and I've never been tempted to switch. I also use the conditioner, and I've never had a problem with dryness. I used to use Pantene, and that left my hair limp. This leaves my hair with the perfect amount of moisture-not too oily and not too dry. I'll probably continue to use this line as long as it's around.

This shampoo is wonderful if you color your hair. I have been using it for about 2 years and it really preserves my color between colorings. When my hair was heavily highlighted, I used the shampoo for blondes, and it kept my blonde highlights blonde. Wonderful product for the cost!
