This took me several years to do (I don't ever use bleach) I've learned that by gradually piecing in color (No Foils!...they leave obvious roots!)that I was able to obtain my beautiful shade of blonde. I am part Asian (not blessed with the best hair) ..its coarse, dry, a bit damaged (duh) and frizzy double duh!). I wash my hair only once every 4-5 days) I wanted to find a DIY straightener that would noticably improve the appearance of my hair without side effects. I read several product reviews on the Organix Keratin 30 day straightening treatment, but because several reviews said it could turn my hair brassy, I nixed that and found the John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3-Day Straight Semi-Permanent Styling product at my local store. It does Exactly what it says its does! This is the best alternatative to a salon treatment, for a minimal cost. This is So Easy to use! I shampoo and (yes) even conditioned my hair, toweled dry, and blow dried gently, to about 50% dry (no styling involved). Then sprayed 10-12 sprays all around, I combed through, I took a round/styling brush and blow dry completely, straightening as best I could, until 100% dry (I immediately felt and saw a differance! I finished with a straightening iron,(be patient!). I sectioned my hair, starting underneath, worked my way up and Viola! Instant results that I (and you will love!) My hair felts softer, the ends were healthier, my hair was shinier and bouncier! I loved the results so much, I bought another..for the price, a hair product doesn't get any better than this! It speeds up the process, adds shine, and holds the style once it's done. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the style only lasted 2 days on my curly hair. But that is longer than other products.

I've used Frizz Ease Stright Fixation Smoothing Creme for years (I use both a blow dryer and flat iron) and get decent results, although I have to touch up with the flat iron in the morning, less if the weather is dry, more if it's humid. I thought 3 Days Straight sounded like it would make my hair even straighter and allow me to avoid using the iron each day--which of course isn't so great for my hair. What a disaster! The product added a huge amount of bouncy body to my hair--which is NOT what you want if you are trying to tame thick locks with a heavy wave. I couldn't achieve anything close to the level of straightness I was used to getting, and my hair kept sproinging up over the course of the day. I even tried using 3 Days Straight two more times, spraying on more in one try and less in another, thinking that I just wasn't using it correctly, but the result was still dreadful. The rest of the bottle went in the trash.

Cons Best Uses Comments about John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3-Day Straight Semi-Permanent Styling Spray, 3.5 fl oz: I was dubious at first, but when i saw this on drugstore.com and it was on sale and it was only [$] anyway, i had to try it. i have very fine, very wavy almost curly hair. i live in a very humid climate and it's always been impossible to keep my hair straight after using a flat iron on it. it always frizzes up, poofs out and looks horrible. i was very pleasantly surprised at how well this product worked. i have not gone 3 days using it yet, but the fact my hair is not frizzy or wavy or puffy at 5:30 p.m. in the middle of July in Georgia is an outright miracle.

If you aren't that great at drying your hair straight, this product isn't going to change your life. And I think you really do need to use the flat-iron to 'seal' the straight in.
