Overall I was displeased with this hair dye. While the color was nearly perfect to what was on the box, it didn't last. Within two weeks the color had almost completely washed out. Later I learned from my hair stylist that boxed hair dyes are the rejects they didn't want to send to the salon. So they stay in the open air until they can be packaged which ruins the quality. Plus they are horrible for your hair.

If I'm going to use something that damages my hair I at least want it to last.

I love this dye! The foam is super easy to use compared to other hair color, and the gloves provided are high quality. It doesn't smell bad, either, although that isn't something I care about that much. The color is gorgeous and deep and covered any grays that I had. It also left my hair feeling super moisturized as opposed to dry and brittle. The conditioner included is wonderful!

I have no idea what the reviewer that gave this one star is talking about. If anything, the color is slightly darker than what it appears to be on the box (leans more towards black than dark brown). Its not even anywhere close to being "light brown"! Definitely go with the rest of the positive reviews here and try out this dye!

Review for 3N - Deep Brown Black - This is the best color product I have ever used! And I have tried so many. I don't understand all the negative reviews. This was so wonderful, incredibly easy to use, covered all my long hair with no patches or missed spots, doesn't have the strong smell that so many color products have and when the roots grow out they are not as noticeable as with other products I have used. Absolutely great, color is rich and long lasting. Will use it as long as they continue to make it!

I was so curious about this new hair coloring system that I finally caved and spent a few extra dollars to try it out. It cost me [$] at the local drug store, and I purchased a dark brown-black (3N) in order to color over my new grays and get rid of the old red hair dye I already had in my hair from 6 weeks previous. The box contains instructions that seem a little awkward at first, because you do NOT shake the hair color to mix it- you TILT it! I has skeptical but this did get the job done. Once you have poured the contents together and tilted them 5 times slowly, you replace the cap with a foam dispenser and squeeze the bottle. They provide you with gloves which are a step above most gloves in other kits I have bought (and I have bought hundreds!). The foam came out easily and stayed put. There was plenty to cover my hair and it is longer than shoulder length. Once all of the foam is distributed, you are supposed to massage it into the hair for a few minutes. This is very neat because the foam starts to turn colors but still looks like suds in your strands. I left the color on for 30 minutes, which is the maximum, and then rinsed in the shower until the water ran clear. A good sized conditioner that smells great as well is provided for use after rinsing. I left it in for about five minutes, and rinsed. My hair looked absolutely perfect when it completed drying a few hours later. The color was just as stated on the box, and super shiny. I combed through my dry hair looking for any patches and found none. Looked just like I had been born with this color. I would recommend this hair coloring system to anyone. I have used just about every hair color on the market, including the ones at the Beauty Salon for beauticians, and this one has excellent results for the money, and then some! Thanks John Freida.

I purchased this to cover up my roots and to do some touch up on my hair... when i got finished with my hair my hair looked worst then it did before i colored it it says that it's dark brown/black but it's mostly light brown it made my roots lights then the rest of my hair which made it look like i never even did any touched up hair on my hair so if you are looking for a good black hair dye... don't waste your time with this brand it's a totally waste

It's a great product. Natural color for someone of East Asian origins and is very easy to use. I also love the conditioner that comes with the hair color. It can be bit messy for someone with thick hair because it may not stay up with the foam, like the picture on the box. Nevertheless, it is a great product, and I highly recommend.

If you have black, be it soft black or light black, this product won't fill the bill. Much too Brown. So disappointed but would cost more to return. Color was listed as Dark Brown/Black not Brilliant Brunette when choosing color.

I love this! The foam makes it really easy to apply. It was gentle on my scalp and covered evenly. Usually after dying my hair there is dye on the towel after I get out of the shower. My hair towel was perfectly clean after using this, meaning the dye actually stayed in my hair. This is a first! My hair felt silky BEFORE I used the conditioner. Usually it feels like straw after dying my hair. It's been a week since I've dyed it and there has been NO fading. That is very unusual for at home hair dye. This stuff is awesome:)

I'm a guy and used this product for my greying hair. the other "mens formulas' ( you know what they are) were not as real looking as this product. The true test is when you go outside in the sunlight. The foam application could no be easer. Hope they continue making this product. Oh...and did I mention that the color lasted a long time and did no damage my scalp.
