I believe it helps to keep the color from fading quite as fast. I have very thin, fine hair and wash it every other day. This shampoo is gentle enough to use and leave my hair in great condition. I panicked when my local stored stopped carrying the John Freida Radiant Red products and was extremely happy to find it on line. But it never lathered well so it was clear to me that my hair wasn't getting much out of it. And even with the conditioner, my hair got drier and drier and more and more tangled. I wanted so badly for this shampoo to rock my hair, but knew it was failing me when i was waiting for it to dry up so i could justify getting some new shampoo. Looked everywhere in my town and couldn't find a product, but found it here. It is very gentle on my hair, (shampoo every other day) and the color stays longer.

I've tried every professional product on the market and keep coming back. The others allow red to leach out of my hair shafts way too quickly and dull the color. Whereas this maintains the intensity of the red and keeps it looking shiny for weeks longer.

This is the only commercially available product that I have found specifically formulated for red hair.

I found that the conditioner really helps lessen the frizz my hair can get. I have been using the products for about a month and am pleased with it. It is about time that there is a special product for redheads as our hair is different than others. I am hoping they will expand their Ravishing Red line.
