The best shampoo I have found in a long time. Salon quality shampoo that thickens, softens, and brightens my hair. It is healthier and has more volume. I use it with John Frieda's Go Blonder Conditioner.

I had always been a believer in shelling out for pricier hair products, but I decided to give this line a shot as my naturally dark blonde hair was looking dull and drab and I had read several positive reviews. I'm glad I did! I have been using the shampoo and conditioner roughly every other day for about three months, and while the results are not drastic, my hair is definitely lighter and more vibrant. The best part tho is my hair's condition after using these products - my hair is quite long, mid-back, so it can be difficult to comb out after shampooing. Not with this stuff - it leaves my hair soft, shiny, and a comb goes through it easily, even when I'm overdue for a trim. I can't believe a shampoo and conditioner at this price point work this well - definitely rivals the pricier products. I'm hooked.

This shampoo subtly adds blonde color to my light brown hair and has even turned my gray hair blonde too. Love this stuff because I don't have to color my hair! Would definitely recommend. It can be a little drying so I use a deep conditioning treatment once a week and my hair is good.

My naturally blonde hair is getting darker as I age, but I didn't want the upkeep, cost, or unnatural look of salon highlights. I tried this shampoo and saw a difference in my color within a week. It didn't change the color a lot, persay, but lightened it a touch and brightened it up overall. My hair is thick and naturally wavy/curly, so I find it this product be a bit drying, but I counteract it with a heavy, moisturizing conditioner rather than the JF Sheer Blonde formula. While I wish it was a little more gentle/moisturizing, I will keep using it because it's much better and cheaper than going to the salon for a dye job!

I bought this in another store but could not find the matching conditioner (will get it here though).
I originally had dark brown hair, which has been getting gray in it gradually (I am 64); I have never used permanent color on my hair; I had been using a shampoo for gray/white hair but can no longer find it. I thought I would try this and have been using for 2 weeks, daily. My massage therapist asked me where I had my hair frosted - I said, that is just my own hair - she said it has a lot of blond highlights in it, just like it was salon-frosted. Guess my grey hair now is blond, and my darker hair is lighter. I am very pleased with the results. Better than coloring. Plan to use the conditioner with the shampoo.

I hope none of the John Frieda Blonde products are ever discontinued or reformulated, 'cause they all work and they work so well! I rotate the Go Blonder, Lusterous Touch and Highlight Activating Sets and I love them all so much, I will always use them for as long as they are available. Before purchasing The Go Blonder, I had read reviews saying it dried out everyone's hair and made it straw like and brittle. I was very cautious of this as my hair is BABY FINE, AND THIN--so damage is easily done. My hair is naturally between a medium Ash/Neutral Blonde, I have DRY ends and an oily scalp that must be shampooed daily or my mop looks like I greased a car. I bought my favorite Deep conditioner by Renpure with my Go Blonder Shampoo, but when I used the Go Blonder conditioner it was almost the same exact texture of my Renpure Deep treatment...it really silkens my hair and detangles it. I literally only use a dime size amount and I never only use a dime size amount of anything and think it's unrealistic to do so, but not with this rich conditioner. My hair is healthy, full, shiny and BLOOOONDE! My hair is so sooo soooft! I wouldn't hesitate this purchase. If you are worried about it drying out your hair here is the best advice...buy a GOOD deep conditioning treatment and a good leave in treatment...and use them religiously or you wont maintain healthy hair anyway. Got it? K. Now go get this shampoo and conditioner set and fall is love with your new hair. I didn't know my hair was dull until I started using all the blonde products by JF. The Purple Shampoos never make a difference on me, by the way.

I have very fine, flat hair that can be oily by the end of the day. This shampoo may be a bit drying, but for me that actually works to my advantage. It gets rid of the oil and adds volume. I definitely need to use the conditioner with it, though, because it would be too drying otherwise. As for the color lightening, I did not really notice a change since it was so gradual, but I had friends ask me if I had gotten highlights and said they loved the new color. So - apparently it is actually working! The only thing I would change about this product is the scent. It is not bad, but it is not great either and does not last long in my hair. That may be ideal, though, if you wear perfume and don't want a lot of scents competing with each other.

The very first bottle of John Frieda Go Blonder shampoo that I ever used, I noticed a difference. Before this product (and the lightening spray of the same name) I was so close to going to the salon to start highlighting my hair, as my hair was darkening as I got older. This product has very effectively helped me to stay naturally blonde and not have to spend lots of money regularly at the salon to get it colored. I swear by this stuff and have to have a bottle of it in my shower at all times.
I do have oily hair, and so I normally use a clarifying shampoo first to rid my hair of oil, and then follow up with this shampoo to add a bit of moisture (just a bit, the shampoo isn't all that moisturizing) and maintain my blonde shade.
