This iron is wonderful. Heats up in 60 seconds to 455 degrees (the hottest setting which I use...degree can be lowered.) Works great on my hair. I can go to bed with a wet head, wake up with crazy hair and it's smooth and flat in less than 5 minutes. The ONLY bad part about this thing is the place where they put the on/off switch and temp setting. It is located exactly where you would naturally grip the iron. So I found myself accidentally turning the iron off or lowering the temp on accident. Once I figured it out, I am able to hold it differently and it works great however I'm holding it in a way that isn't really natural or comfortable for me. Really weird design?!?! This flat iron works well for it's price point in that it certainly straightens my hair fine and creates a smooth look. I agree with others that the position and design of the on/off and temp buttons is a little awkward as I was always accidently adjusting the temp control. The heating pad it comes with is helpful since this iron does have a bit of a more curved design and tends to fall over on it's side exposing a little bit of the plates to the counter. I like that is comes with a pad to sit it on so you don't have to worry about how you set it down. It heats up really fast. Heats up very quickly and is a good travel straightner and to use between using my other straightner that takes a little longer to heat up. I use it when I travel now to not break my other one and works great. But when I want to look my best I use my Chi. Good price for what I've paid for other products also. It heats up fast and does a good job (much better than my old straightener). The only problem is that I sometimes accidentally bump the control buttons. It took me multiple swipes to get my hair straight. It heats up super fast, though, and the temperature is adjustable. The rounded edges are great for curling, but they tend to curl my hair even when I want to straighten it. Overall, I would go with a different straightener (Hot Tools, GHD, Chi).
