I have a chronic wound and have tried everything til I discovered Johnion and Johnson's. Their product does not stick to the wound, yet is excellent at absorbing. I have changed drug stores because they stopped carrying this product. It is safe, easy to use, and goes great with paper tape.

Use for a weeping wound and it is protective while allowing air to permeate, and does not cause re-infection.

I use the gauze pads to wash my eyes each day with a little baby shampoo. They are much better for this purpose, as well as to remove eye make-up with baby shampoo, than are cotton pads or cotton balls which leave fibers. The product is also useful for aiding in covering wounds but my primary use is for washing my eyes with baby shampoo, per my doctor's instructions.

There might be cheaper gauzes, but they are not worth it. These are more expensize but you get what pay for great quaility. Don't waste you money on cheaper alternatives.

This item is perfect for when you don't want to use a band aid that is 3/4 inch wide.
Also, perfect if you wound is larger then 3/4 inch wide, and smaller then 2 inches.
I have used this product on my neighbors' toe, and it was a match made in heaven.
I have used it on my own thumb.
I used it after I got clawed by a cat, and had a 1 1/2 inch scratch in my leg. I grabbed one gauze pad plus tape, and neatly took care of the problem.

What you find inside the wrapper is a gauze pad that is folded over itself a few times to arrive at a size of 2"x2" and be thick enough to be useful. Unfortunatly these start out as a piece of gauze too small to fold into a 2x2 pad, so to get the required 2x2 size, it is folded short on the inside seams so that while meeting the 2x2 outside dimension, it is not of equal thickness across the full face of the pad. You end up with a pad with a 1/3 inch border on two sides that is only half as thick as the rest of the pad.
This process started when J&J changed the package and raised their prices, so in effect you got less for more. I had hoped it was just a bad batch that I had purchased, but this shortening has been going on for almost a year now.
