You do not need to use the oil with the oil gel. They both smell the same but serve similar purposes. With the baby oil, you can use the baby lotion with the same fragrance and it will work just fine, and the fragrance will last throughout the day.

I have been using Johnson's baby oil since I was a little girl. I love the smell and how smooth and soft it makes my skin feel! I use it after every shower and just can't get enough of it!

I have been using this as a moisturizer all over right after getting out of the shower and I really love it. I have had painful bumps on my upper legs and upper arms (keratisis I think) for the past year which always seems to get worse in the winter when my skin is drier. The condition is made worse by friction from clothing especially when I workout. This has been the only thing to stop the bumps, smooth and soften my skin and the marks from the bumps are finally healing and going away. I agree that the bottle is a little cumbersome, but I just love the classic scent. And my skin is feeling balanced and is *glowing* more than it has in months.

My mother used it not only on me and my siblings when infants, but also used it on herself and for countless of other household uses. I'm so glad that Johnson has not changed the fragrance, as it is classic and appropriate for everyone. I rub it all over before getting in the shower, then I use a loofah and Olay body wash for extra dry skin.
I haven't had a problem with dry skin since using this method.

Still my favorite after-shower moisturizer for my very dry and sensitive skin. Very subtly scented, so it doesn't interfere with my perfume. And still the best eye-make-up remover. I apply just a couple of drops with my fingers to my lashes, and even waterproof mascara wipes right off.

Be careful when using this; it is occlusive and cause more harm then good...I had a terrible experience. Even though the scent is pleasant, Mineral oil is not good for everyone's skin!

I have 2 kids - a 3 year old girl and 6 month old boy. I'll give this 2 stars for the Johnson's name but that's about all this baby oil has got going. My husband, typical man, didn't want his new baby boy smelling feminine with the baby lotions from Johnson's so we settled on this baby oil. What a bad experience I had. First, the cap is hard to get off. When you first open this the smell is unbearably nauseating. I tried to collect a small amount in my hand to apply to my baby after his bath while having one hand on him so he would remain safe. I couldn't maneuver myself so all the oil went washing down the drain. What a waste of product. I tried putting a pump in the bottle from one of my old lotion bottles. That didn't work either. This oil is way too messy to be used around babies. I'm going to give the Oil Gel a try. I also like New Johnson's Body Cream. It left my son not to "feminine" smelling and both my kids soft for 4 days.
