As a pre-veterinary student, honestly, we use this to take temperatures (dogs, cats, sheep, goats... everything with a temperature). With animals, you need lube for that. I use it on my own pets when they seem sick but I am not sure whether or not to take them to the vet, the temperature is the quickest way to judge their health. My cat gets in fights, and gets abscesses where she gets bit. We can't always see them before they get really bad and she needs surgery to fix it, but her temperature is a sure sign she has an infection somewhere, and is a great indicator for us to use before it gets to the point of requiring surgery. I tried it several times, trying to see if maybe I was using too much, but no matter how or when I used it the result was the same. PAIN! Maybe I'm simply too sensitive, but this stuff is horrible for me. It also feels sticky and dries out too fast. Astroglide is a better choice. This stuff is different then the regular formula that comes in the long plastic tube. This has a thinner consistency, and is easier to wash off. This is probably the best general purpose lubricant on the market. It works very well with latex toys or skin on skin contact. Sticky and tacky right out of the tube. The only reason I subjected myself and my lover to this vile stuff was because we unexpectedly ran out of Liquid Silk. I don't think the "warming" lubes are any less cold than regular types, but this jelly prevents a mess & is all around the best stuff for the purpose intended! It will last for hours if you use a spray bottle with water. I find that once it heats up a bit it really has a quite natural feel to it. Sometimes a little more friction than one of the ultra lubes (like Astroglide) is a good thing.
