The Kanto full motion FMX3 is a very versatile articulating mount for 37" to 80" flat panel TVs. Pre-assembled with heavy-duty dual wishbone arms, this mount allows your TV to extend an incredible 28" from the wall with up to 80 pan (pan range depends on the width of your TV) as well as +/-15 of tilt at your fingertips. With this kind of extension it means you can now pan your 80" TV much further, left and right. This beautiful mount is perfect for hanging TVs allowing for a wide range of viewing positions. A convenient 25" wall plate ensures this mount fits both 16" and 24" stud centers.

The maximum loading weight is 150 lbs (68 kg). This wall mount is intended for use only with the maximum weights indicated. U se with products heavier than the maximum weights indicated may result in instability causing possible injury. TV Size: 37 inch to 70 inch. See apparatus instructions. The wall you plan to use to affix the Kanto mount to must be able to support more than 5 times the weight of the television and the wall mount combined. Do not use this product for any purpose other than to mount a flat panel TV on a vertical surface as outlined in this manual. Improper installation may cause damage to your TV or serious injury. This product should not be mounted on steel stud walls or old or cinder block walls. Consult a qualified installation contractor if you are unsure about the type of wall you may have. Do not lay the TV face down on its glass front. Use a wall or a TV stand, if the TV came with one. Make sure the supporting surface will support the load limits outlined in the Caution at bottom of page one. Tighten Lag Bolts until the Wall Plate is snug flat against the wall. Do not over tighten Lag Bolts (s1). Each Lag Bolt must be located in the center of a wood stud (use a stud finder). Make sure the concrete or brick wall is at least 3.5" thick. Make sure the anchor is seated completely flush with the concrete surface even if there is another layer of material, such as drywall. If drywall is over 5/8" thick custom lag bolts must be used. Concrete must be a minimum of 2000psi in density. Use two people to lift and position the TV onto the Tilt Head Plate.

Required Tools: 5/16" wood drill bit, 9/16" masonry bit for brick or concrete installations, wrench or socket set, level and a Phillips screwdriver. Step 1: Attach TV Brackets. Unscrew the Safety Screws so that you can slide the TV Brackets onto the "H" Assembly while making sure not to let the Captives slide out of the bars on the "H" Assembly (see Diagram a). Unscrew TV Bracket Screws and slide the TV Brackets onto the "H"Assembly (see Diagram a). Insert TV Bracket Screws through the TV Brackets and into the Captives (see Diagram b). Do not fully tighten the screws until the TV Brackets are secured to the TV at the end of Step 2. Insert the Safety Screws back into the "H" Assembly (see Diagram b). Step 2: Attach "H" Assembly to TV. To attach the TV brackets and "H" assembly to the back of your TV you need to first determine the correct screw size diameter (M4/M5/M6/M8 or M10) for your TV mounting holes (see TV owners manual for location). Once you have determined the correct screw size you need to choose the correct length. There are 5 sizes (diameter) of screws and each of those sizes have two different lengths. Choose the correct diameter first by hand threading the 5 sizes of Screws into the threaded mount hole on the back of the TV. Once you have the correct size then choose which length to use. 15mm length Screws are b to f and 30mm length Screws are g to k. The screw should be able to go all the way into the TV back without stopping. Once you have determined the correct size and length see Diagram c and the chart below to determine which Washers and Lock Washers go with which Screws. Thread the Screws through the Lock Washer, Square Washer, through the TV Bracket and finally into the holes on the back of the TV (see Diagram c). If your TV is curved then use Spacers (r) between the TV and the TV Brackets. Each TV Bracket will use only one size of Screw/Lock Washer/ Washer combination in the four locations that connect the TV Brackets to the TV. Make sure the "H" Assembly is centered between the TV Brackets. Then fully tighten the four TV Bracket Screws (see Diagram b). You may offset the TV from center by sliding the "H" Assembly left or right as desired. Step 3: Mount the wall plate. Wood stud wall: The Wall Plate must be mounted to a minimum of two adjacent wood studs. Verify where the center of each stud is by using a stud finder. Use a level to make sure these holes are horizontally level. At the desired height, drill the top Wall Plate pilot holes (Row 1, Diagram d), perpendicular and level to both studs (see Diagram d). Use Wall Plate Template to mark the location of the second row and third row (Row 2 and Row 3) of wall plate pilot holes for each stud. There will be 6 pilot holes for 6 Lag Bolts and Washers. Attach the Wall Plate using 6 Lag Bolts (s1) and Lag Bolt Washers (s2) (see Diagram d). Make sure the Wall Plate is flat against the wall surface. Do not over tighten Lag Bolts (s1). Brick or concrete wall: Use Wall Plate Template to mark six hole locations on the wall for the concrete anchors when installing in a brick or concrete wall. Use a level to make sure these holes are horizontally level. Drill the hole perpendicular to the wall using a masonry bit (see Diagram e). Do not drill into mortor joints. Insert a Concrete Anchor (t) into each of these holes flush with the concrete wall surface. Tighten the nut on the Concrete Anchor (t) until the anchor is fully secure. Do not overtighten. Remove the nut so that just the bolt thread is showing. Attach the Wall Plate to the wall using six Concrete Anchors (t) nuts and six Lag Bolt Washers (s2) (See Diagram e). Make sure the Wall Plate is flat against the wall surface. Do not over tighten Concrete Anchor nuts. Step 4: Attach TV to Wall Plate: Insert the top two Mount Screws (a1) and Washers (a2) into the "H" assembly. These screws should only be screwed half way in as they will be hooked onto the Tilt Plate Head during TV installation. Use two people to lift the TV and "H" Assembly onto the Tilt Head Plate. The two screws (a1) will hook and seat on the Tilt Head Plate (see diagram f). Use caution during this step; until all four a1 screws and a2 washers are installed the TV will remain unstable on the mount. Install the remaining bottom two Screws (a1) and Washers (a2) through the Tilt Head Plate into the lower holes of assembly "H". Tighten all four screws securely with Allen Key (u). Step 5: Level the TV: You can make minor (+/-4) adjustments to the horizontal level of the TV after installation. There are two leveling screws in the Tilt Head Plate as indicated in diagrams f and g. Loosen these slightly and use a level to adjust the horizontal level of the TV. Re-tighten with Allen Key (u). Step 6: Tilt the TV: Loosen the Tilt Handles on both sides of the Tilt Head Plate and tilt the TV to the desired angle (See Diagram g). If a Tilt Handle interferes with the back of the TV when tightening, adjust its position by pulling out and repositioning. The Tilt Handles are spring loaded and will disengage from the assembly in order to allow their repositioning. Tighten the Tilt Handles when the TV is at the desired angle.
