This product really works well and I would recommend it to anyone who needs to ensure they are OK to drive after an evening with friends and a few drinks. This is not a fool-proof catch-all and I would recommend following the manufacturer's instructions, additionally, I take a conservative approach and don't do anything behind the wheel until I register well below the legal limit. When you first use it you might be surprised at how wrong your own judgement really is!
smaller then most cell phones, one button operation and after 6 months, it is still very acurate. if your going to drink, this product will allow you to do so in a responsible manner.
My wife (an alcoholic in treatment) had agreed to allow me to administer daily breathalyzer tests to confirm her continued sobriety. I suspected she was relapsing, but the problem was she would sometimes refuse to take the test because "she was mad at me". Originally, I selected this model because it didn't require breathing tubes which would have to be replaced frequently, and I could avoid the expense of replacing them daily. I found however that since the reading is taken by blowing across the sensor rather than through a tube, I could take a breath sample surreptitiously while she slept in order to satisfy myself that my intuition was correct. Unfortunately, the device has no "logging" function to keep a record of the readings, so I used my digital camera to record a video of a breath sample being taken. Although this sampling method isn't per the instructions and probably inaccurate, I believe it correctly answers the question of whether she was drinking or not drinking. When confronted with the incontrovertible video evidence, she immediately acknowledged she was relapsing and has subsequently returned to treatment.
Press and hold power for one full second. After powering on, the unit will count down quickly from 50 to zero. This countdown takes approximately 10 seconds.
