I was hesitant at first as to how an adhesive could be strong enough to hold the lock in place. I was pleasantly surprised at the results. I have these on 12 different cabinets/drawers in my kitchen and bathroom and am happy with them for the most part. I have noticed that if you pull hard enough on the cabinet or drawer, it will bypass the lock mechanism. However, it goes to show how strong the adhesive is since it bypasses before tearing off!! I have really struggled with getting those to line up right. The first ones I put on work great! I was really excited and ordered more. However, several of those aren't working well. I finally pulled one off because it wasn't catching at all. The adhesive didn't stick, and even when it was put on correctly, if you tug on them, they will open up. While I really like the ones that work, I wish they all worked so well. REVIEWS Reviewed by 18 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-10 Previous | Next » Pros

Comments about KidCo Adhesive Mount Cabinet/Drawer Lock, 1 ea: Very sturdy and easy to install. Put in at the same time as the ones you screw into the cabinet, these are the only ones we didn't have to replace. I recommend them to all parents. Pros

Comments about KidCo Adhesive Mount Cabinet/Drawer Lock, 1 ea: Once you stick it, it's very difficult to remove. Definitely clean the area with alcohol first, so the adhesive will stick better. Recommend outlining where you want to place it before sticking it. Adjustment is usually impossible. If you are to remove it, then it won't stick as well afterward. I absolutely love the fact that it doesn't require any hardware for framed drawers/cabinets. No magnetic keys required! My toddler threw away the magnetic key within five minutes of installing a magnetic lock. Pros

Comments about KidCo Adhesive Mount Cabinet/Drawer Lock, 1 ea: These locks were much easier and faster to install than the ones where you need to get out the drill, and far less damaging to my brand new drawers and cupboard doors. They also seem to work equally well. I bought 7 of them, and did mess up installing one, which is how I learned how difficult it is to remove that adhesive. It can be done, if you're persistent and careful to not scratch your cupboard, but that stuff is really strong. I ended up re-mounting it using some double-stick mounting tape I had, and so far that has held up also. And my grandsons are strong, active, curious little boys! Pros

Comments about KidCo Adhesive Mount Cabinet/Drawer Lock, 1 ea: These are by far the best drawer locks I've come across. Incredibly easy to install without screws. Just wish they weren't so expensive. Comments about KidCo Adhesive Mount Cabinet/Drawer Lock, 1 ea: Have a home day care business. Been using these for 4 years. I love these. Very easy to install, have never needed screws. Wish I had found these years ago. Comments about KidCo Adhesive Mount Cabinet/Drawer Lock, 1 ea: I just got and installed these locks. I have the Kidco magnetic adhesives on all of my non sliding cabinet doors, and they are amazing, so I decided to try these ones. The good- I installed over 15 of these in less than one hour. Once you figure out the really complicated drawing on the back, they are really easy. The bad- I waited the 24 hours for my test lock to set before using, and as soon as I did the adhesive popped right off, and I ended up needing to adhesive and screw in the rest of the locks. That being said, they are a good lock, serves the purpose, and the adhesive makes it much easier to the reinforce with screws than all of the other cheaper sliding drawer locks out there, which require having to measure, draw pencil marks, etc. I would really give this 3.5 stars if I could because I think that they are great, but you really do need to screw them in if you want them to last, unlike the Kidco magnetics which never pop off but don't fit sliding drawers. Comments about KidCo Adhesive Mount Cabinet/Drawer Lock, 1 ea: These cabinet/drawer locks are a breeze, compared to the screw-on variety. My handy husband spent a half hour per latch pre-drilling holes into our kitchen cabinets and installing the screw-on variety. I just installed one adhesive cabinet lock in 10 minutes. The diagram on the back is a little tricky, but once you understand how the mechanism works, it's easy. I attached mine without making any pencil markings (though that is what they suggest). The pieces have to line up, but I found that it didn't have to be ultra-precise to still work. I didn't install mine perfectly, which results in me having to squeeze just a TINY bit harder to disengage the lock. But it was a happy accident, since it will make it virtually impossible for my toddler to open it. It was so quick to install, that even if I have to occassionally replace the double sided foam tape, I'm willing to do it. ![]() |
