To Install:   No tools necessary for installation

Note: For use with older children you may choose to use the screws provided for a more secure installation.

1. Lift cover off case.
2. Disassemble case by pressing tab on either end and pulling apart.  (Foam inside of case is to stabilize the movement of lever handle.)  Take bottom of handle case (with foam insert) and place directly under lever handle.  Optional: To prevent lock tampering, leave key-hole cover in bottom slot of case.  Place top of case (with foam insert) directly on top of handle and snap the two case pieces together, completely enclosing door handle and securing key-hole cover.  There may be slight movement of the handle inside the case.  However, if there is too much movement, take case apart and rearrange foam.
3. Snap cover back onto case.  Lever lock should now be horizontal and secure on door handle.
4. Lift Mechanism (Adhesive Mount Installation): Take tape backing off lift mechanism housing.  Put lift tongue into groove so it rests on case cover and slide it towards the door.  Press firmly against door to secure tape.
   Lift Mechanism (Screw Mount Installation):  While lift tongue is resting in groove and against door, mark the top of the lift housing on the door.  Disassemble lift housing by pressing on both tabs (Screwdriver may be needed) and pulling off back plate.  Align top of back plate with marking on door and screw back plate to door (you may wish to mark screw holes first).  Next, slide housing front into back plate until you hear a click.

To Operate: Press up on lift mechanism (Lift button) and push down on the handle case.  When released, the lock will automatically reset.  Even when the lock is set, you will be able to freely access the door form the opposite side of the lever lock.
