I love this shampoo, as it doesn't leave any residue to irritate my sensitive scalp and skin. I don't get any breakouts and my hair is left clean, without buildup. A little of this goes a long way! I've been working on a bottle for almost a year, and I've got super-long hair down my back. This doesn't provide any conditioning benefits, so I follow with a light conditioner.

I would have liked this shampoo if it didn't smell so much like Ivory soap. It's not really an offensive smell, but I don't have good associations with the fragrance. It cleans like any old castile soap but has enough moisturizers in it to keep it from completely drying out my hair like straight Dr. Bronner's might. I'd recommend a good conditioner with it, though, to keep it from being too drying.

Comments about Kirk's Original Coco Castile Shampoo, 16 fl oz:

I love this product. It has it all - it's all natural, affordable, and fragrance free. I noticed after prolonged use of this product that my hair had been breaking easily. I read how Castile products can be harsh on hair because they're not pH balanced, so I decided to switch shampoos to see if it was the culprit. Sure enough I noticed a remarkable difference in my hair breaking after just three days of using a different shampoo. I have very fine hair, so maybe it's just my hair type, but this appears to be a common problem.

Comments about Kirk's Original Coco Castile Shampoo, 16 fl oz:

I switched to natural shampoos about 4 years ago, and I have literally tried maybe 100. This one is my favorite. It cleans so well, and I never end up with greasy scalp or oily-looking hair like I do with so many of the natural shampoos. It really cleans well!

I do use a different shampoo and conditioner once a week because this shampoo is NOT moisturizing. It's not necessarily drying, but it doesn't add moisture.

I have long middle-of-my-back hair, and my hair is thin and color-treated. This shampoo is hands-down the best for my hair. LOVE it!

Comments about Kirk's Original Coco Castile Shampoo, 16 fl oz:

I love this shampoo because it makes my hair so clean and soft and doesn't make my scalp itch like most others do. Having had skin cancer in the past I am very choosy about what products I use and this one gets top marks. And a little goes a long way - you only need a tiny bit for great lather. Also, made in America!

Smells great. Use it on my daughter's hair and found it to be a little drying. However, her waves are smooth and hair is soft.
