I have lupus which causes painful mouth sores and gingivitis. This summer my mouth hurt so bad, I could only eat ice cream and noodles, and regular minty toothpaste hurt like you wouldn't believe. Aloe Vera has been found to reduce inflammation and improve gum health when it's added to toothpaste. This is the only toothpaste I have found that doesn't have the strong minty taste. It still freshens breath, but the taste is not like a regular Crest or Colgate toothpaste. At first the taste was so different from what I was used to, but it's worth it to use until you are used to it, and now I love it, it's my favorite flavor, plus, it doesn't burn my gums!
