This is the first time I've used natural deodorant. I was very skeptical as I've heard bad things in general, but I'm definitely trying to use less chemicals on/in my body. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with this stuff. I thought that I'd just use this day to day, but keep my "regular" deodorant for athletic use. However, I've used this stuff on a long bike ride in the VERY hot sun, and it performed much better than any other deodorants I've ever used. I've also tried this when running, and it worked well too. For the past couple of weeks that I've been using this, I'll often do a "sniff check" and it just smells like nothing. No BO....even after exercise! I will definitely be buying the normal sized version of this. Keep in mind that this is a deodorant and not an anti-antiperspirant. But our bodies were meant to sweat, right? If you're skeptical, just try the 1 oz version...it's pretty cheap and you can always order the bigger size later. It worked well. Over time, the crystal lost its smoothness and needed replacing. The Kiss My Face roll-on is better because it does not require any wetting. I chose this deodarant because it will not stain my shirts like Right Guard anti-perspirant does over time. It doesn't last all day- I would re-apply it when I get home from work if I had a companion!! But it won't cause cancer and works for 8 hours or so. I was using the natural crystals for several years, and then found this. It is great, easy to use, and does not irritate my skin. Previously, I tried Nature's Gate unscented deoderant for a week with deoderant soap and found that it did not control odor for me. So, I tried Kiss My Face for a week with the same deoderant soap and it has worked perfectly. My only concern is that it contains preservatives. I plan to try Tom's of Maine deoderant next. Comments about Kiss My Face Liquid Rock Deodorant Roll-On, Fragrance Free, 3 fl oz: I prefer to use deoderants without aluminum or zinc, as aluminum is a proven neurotoxin and zinc is bioaccumulative and there is limited evidence it may be an immune system toxicant. This product is very effective at preventing odor. It is NOT an antiperspirant. However, if you do sweat, it does prevent odor. As with any product, it will have a point beyond which it is ineffective. It doesn't last quite as long as a product containing aluminum (the best of those is Dove Sensiitive Skin Fragrance Free). I recommend reapplying the Liquid Rock before a workout. I workout 5-6 days a week for 45-60 min and have always found this effective for that purpose.This product has the lowest safety rating (lower is better) for a product that works on the Skin Deep web site, which rates products for toxicity:[@]I've tried Naturally Fresh and Tom's of Maine, which both contained zinc and didn't work. This one worked at first, but didn't continue to work for me. My brother thought it smelled like BO itself, and thought I was crazy for using it. Of course it isn't going to stop you from perspiring, but it should at least help with the smell and this one does not. For me, it seems to work for maybe 1-3 hours depending on what I'm doing, but it lasts that long only if I apply to clean pits; if I'm already stinky, I might as well just go without, so this deodorant is pretty useless to me. It certainly does go on clear and doesn't stain my clothes, but those are the only high marks (along with being "natural").
